Cute, doesn't hide your ignorance of how Medicare and ACA are funded. You have no problem taking from someone else do you?
Americans favor Obamacare 49% to 42%. By my counting, that’s hardly rejected by the electorate. Moreover, the 2018 midterm election was a referendum on Trump and healthcare, who tried to replace Obamacare with a system that was worse in every category compared to Obamacare and didn’t protect preexisting conditions. In case you forgot, Democrats slaughtered Republicans in 2018.there is no beauty of ACA as it was rejected by the electorate leaving 33 million Americans uninsured at its peak in 2016. Your belief that healthcare is a federal responsibility is typical of socialist loving liberals in your state. You refuse to tell us how you benefit from ACA nationwide and why healthcare isn't a state and local responsibility
How many times do we have to answer your same question? An EO cannot extend pre-existing conditions. If the entire ACA is canceled there's no way Congress will pass a new bill. It won't happen. Trump knows this so guess what, he's just saying it to get votes - one of thousands of lies and misleading statements....stop asking!Okay, where is your evidence that Trump is "bringing back pre-existing condition exclusions?"
I've already posted one video proving this is false. Here is a second video...
Is the Biden Campaign driving this lie? Or ABC?
He supports tossing out the entire ACA without being able to replace any of it. Are you not able to comprehend this simple FACT? Take your blinders off.So you believe that for the past four years, our President has been secretly plotting to do away with the pre-existing condition guarantee. While stating again and again that he supports it.
Aside from the fact that this is an absurd conspiracy theory,
When has Trump ever publicly taken a position on an issue, and not stood by it?
An EO cannot extend pre-existing conditions.
Jakie, read the thread lol.He supports tossing out the entire ACA without being able to replace any of it. Are you not able to comprehend this simple FACT? Take your blinders off.
It's the left politicians, and media hacks like stephanopoulos who are lying about the republican position on pre existing conditions. I guess the left media doesn't bother to show Trump saying over and over again that pre existing conditions will remain as part of any health care plan.Just an atrocious series of lies from Trump last night about pre-existing condition protections, right to the face of a voter with a serious health condition.
He claims the Dems, who banned pre-existing conditions and have fended off ten years of GOP efforts to reinstate them, will bring them back (they won't), he claims he will protect people with pre-existing conditions (he's in court right now trying to bring pre-existing conditions back), he claims he has a plan "all ready" (he doesn't), he claims Obamacare was a disaster (it isn't), he claims he essentially repealed Obamacare (he didn't), he claims he's running Obamacare well (he's not), and he claims junk insurance is better than insurance that has protections for people with pre-existing conditions (it's not, and indeed threatens the latter).
The blank look on Trump's face as Stephanopoulos reels off the things in the ACA Trump is trying to strike down in the courts says it all.
Trump's ABC town hall: President faces tough questions on coronavirus response, health care, racial injustice
Disgusting.
Why would anyone think that Fox gives a balance? Watching lies on Fox isn't balance against truth on other networks. Fox's job is to spread propaganda -- and it clearly works. You believe that the 2017 health care bill protected pre-existing conditions, when it took them away.Jakie, read the thread lol.
And watch Fox every once in a blue moon so your assumptions about Republicans are not based off biased threads and/or CNN coverage.
The Republican sponsored 2017 bill protected pre-existing conditions.
The Court would not strike down the ACA until this Spring, by which time we will have passed a replacement bill.
I’m not sure how old you are, but I feel like some of the college aged posters in this forum have no clue how bad it was under Obamacare. It was basically what pushed Trump over the top.

Sorry, do you have more in depth knowledge of EOs than the President of the United States?Makes you wonder if they're still teaching Government 101 in school these days.

The Senate's Health-Care Bill Would Cause Financial Ruin for People With Preexisting Conditions
Republicans are going to insist otherwise, but that’s simply not the case.www.theatlantic.com

Easy answer: Trump lies repeatedly that he protects preexisting conditions. He lied in the 2016 campaign. He lied when the GOP wrote a bill and he's lying now. His actions show he has no intention of protecting preexisting conditions but if he came clean, he would lose votes, so he lies.ntegrityrespec said:It's the left politicians, and media hacks like stephanopoulos who are lying about the republican position on pre existing conditions. Just as in Obamacare, insurers could not turn away those with pre-existing conditions. But it would leave it up to the states whether to continue other protections."
???You keep repeating this lie. That bill didn't protect anything, the Affordable Care Act does. If the GOP succeeds in getting rid of the ACA via the courts, those protections are gone.
This bill protected pre-existing conditions independently of the ACA.
Greenbeard, why are you so desperate for Republicans NOT to be supporting pre-existing conditions? The normal reaction would be to be relieved.
No, it didn't.
I'd be very relieved if they withdrew their lawsuit to bring back pre-existing conditions.
You have no details, yet make the positive claim '.........clearly stated.' Worst argument put forth here at DP today. Not sure of the details, but Stephanopolous clearly stated that Trump was trying to get rid of the pre-existing condition safety net.
Which was a lie, period.
100% yes.
The CNN source established that it did.
What exactly are you arguing? That the 2017 GOP bill was written with the intention of extending a portion of the ACA?
There is no lawsuit to get rid of the pre-existing condition guarantee. There are portions of the ACA that are so harmful to working class Americans that people are getting sick and unable to afford premiums, deductibles, and co-pays. The lawsuit is to end the ACA, and then replace with a new bill protecting pre-existing conditions.
This isn’t about Fox being balanced.
You’ve got half of the liberal posters on this board making assumptions about the motivations of Republican politicians. Yet they have not watched conservative media, spoken to a conservative in person, or even followed the 2016 primaries.
They view Republicans through this warped lens that CNN has created, and have no clue how Republicans think. Cruz and Rubio vowed to protect pre-existing conditions as well.
Well, lol the two of us have been debating this forever, and we keep going over the same points. In two different threads. The 2017 bill didn't repeal most of the ACA because most of the ACA can't be repealed without 60 votes in the Senate and the House well knew that. The fact that it wasn't able to take key parts of the ACA off the books is good! Except that the GOP's backup plan was to get the courts to toss out the rest of the ACA for them and with RBG's death they may get their wish.
Their bill didn't protect anyone, the ACA did. If it goes, those protections go.
You're really invested in believing in this imaginary bill you've made up, aren't you? The GOP has been fighting tooth and nail to get rid of the ACA and its pre-existing condition protections so they can turn around and bring it right back with a bill that in ten years they never quite got around to writing. Very plausible!
