Trump issues 90 day pause on some tariffs

I wonder how much the 20% lift today in the Trump Media stock that Trump just said he was going to sell put in Trumps pockets? I seem to remember that it was over $2B in stock, so might have made him an extra $400 to $500 million in personal wealth, at the expense of the poor fools that are still buying TM of course.

Anyway, good to see that he finally 'blinked', and maybe the poor souls who have been getting hammered in the markets will get a little relief. I am expecting that we will now see Trump finding excuses to claim victories while looking to keep climbing out of the tariff hole he dug by being a low IQ idiot. The problem for the markets now are likely the soon to be released quarterly numbers for the economy and the publicly held businesses. I wouldn't get to excited about todays rally just yet.

This was ultimately a market manipulation scam by Trump, but I don't think he wanted to pull out of it just yet. I think that had the Bond Market not started tanking, he would have gone longer with it.
There's probably so much insider trading going on right now it would make your head swim. Problem is, no one can stop it. Or rather, no one will.

This post display's exceptional ignorance & apathy towards the economic suffering of America and her citizenry.
If I've said it once, I've said it a million times. MAGA hates America.

If the China tariff remains at 135%, wouldnt it be smart for some other countries to reach favorable terms with China, then act as middlemen...buy from China, then sell to us undercutting the 135%? They could sell the goods to us for profit but still cheaper than we could directly. Is this legal? Plausible? Or would China just jack up tariffs on those countries? No way to keep it all secret.

That 135% is just so high it makes me think of profiteering.

Economic suffering? Where were you the past four years? It's clean up and repair time.

I like how they're still trying to spin Trump blinking. "Yes, he capitulated, he took the win".

lol

What win? I mean besides his personal market manipulation scam he was running. There was no win, no one is at the table, and it never took a Trade War in the first place to get our allies at the table to talk tariffs.

I wouldn't want to be the country that tries to pull something like that...

Seems most MAGAs arent smart enough to grasp what's happening so of course they're not concerned. The king said it, so it is so.

The funny thing is that that was an argument they used when they put the tariffs on countries like Vietnam. Now they’re backing down. None of it makes sense.

Trump backing down again, must be getting a lot of push back because of the damage he's causing.

I saw a Congressional guest on Chris Cuomo's show last night, claim where if we went another day or two - at most - with still crashing markets, big business leaders had agreed they would publicly come-out against Trump and put a stop to it.
