Trump's Job Rating Slides; U.S. Satisfaction Tumbles

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- As President Donald Trump works to contain the damage from the novel coronavirus outbreak in the U.S., the rally in support he enjoyed as the nation entered a virtual lockdown has faded. His job approval rating, now 43%, has slipped six percentage points since mid-March when he earned 49% approval, which tied his personal best.

Since the mid-March poll, Trump's job approval rating has fallen six points among Democrats (to 7%) and four points among independents (to 39%). Higher approval ratings among those groups helped fuel the short-lived rally in approval for Trump. Republicans' evaluations of Trump have been highly stable throughout 2020, and currently sit at 93% approval.

So Gallup, which Trump supporters were touting a few weeks ago as "proof" of his re-election, now has Trump back down 6 points to a dismal 43% approval. his approval rating among independents and Democrats, which saw a slight spike for a bit, are back down to dismal levels. Republicans of course approve of him at record levels.

I guess Gallup has been regulated back to being part of the "Deep State" now.

+4 to -11 in less than three weeks. Meltdown territory.

It's probably part of the reason why he's telling his base to "LIBERATE!". In blue states only of course, he doesn't want his foot soldiers causing mayhem in red states.

I can't believe 43% of adults in this country are ignorant enough to approve of that idiot's performance.

Republicans of course approve of him at record levels.

Oh wait. Now I can.

The majority of Republicans will approve of him no matter what simply because he makes "the libs" angry. He wasn't elected for any type of policies or to actually govern, he was elected to troll "the libs".

Everyone was happy when the moron stopped calling concern a hoax and acted like an adult for a day. Now the clown is back to his "entertain the inbreeds" routine.

The republicans will lose the senate too.

Thanks Trump.

And along with 538 showing Trump's upside-down differential sliding back to over 8 pts, you might find it interesting that during the same time period we've seen the Generic Congressional Ballot slip to Republicans down by 8 as well.

Yeah, it's getting interesting out there ...

Exactly. The surprise is not that he's "down" to 43% approval, but rather that he is even "that high" at all!

Thanks Trump.

I dunno, let's not jump the gun here. Anything can happen between now and November, and Trump and his thugs will be doing everything possible to destroy Biden. Not to mention Republicans are very eager to re-elect their president, so he has the enthusiasm from at least his base.

I'm hoping for the best brother.

Just like Obama was to troll the conservatives. What was it Obama said? "I won" and to get over it!!! Divisive piece of sh*t to treat the opposition party like they are at the bottom of his shoes.

Actually those same polls say the GOP has the enthusiasm advantage. It's what happens when do you a partisan impeachment over BS and refuses to work with the president on anything. I mean I thought infrastructure was always bi-partisan, so why did Pelosi walk away from the infrastructure meeting? Democrats can't answer that, because that stunt she pulled was ridiculous.

And punish us for electing a black man President twice. Don't forget that. Trump is the anti-Obama.

Democrats are enthusiastic enough to vote this idiot and his minions out of power. If 2018 spills over to 2020, Trump is finito.

A poll a few weeks ago said the GOP had the enthusiasm advantage and it wasn't a Fox poll either.

Yeah, but did you see this:

(KTAR News) Mark Kelly widens lead over Sen. Martha McSally in Arizona poll

From toss-up to 9 pt lead?

And Jamie Harrison has been out-raising Lindsey Graham in SC, with him now suddenly looking competitive.

We saw similar trends last week with the WI SC election, where a neophyte Dem soundly tossed-out the incumbent Republican.

There seems to be some slant going-on lately, and it may be putting the Senate in play.

Republicans Independants Democrats
270 399 319

once again we see huge poll bias wow.

Dude, Biden getting elected President with a Democratic Senate and House would be awesome, and would be a start in cleaning up the mess this joke of an administration has left upon the nation. Not to mention it would be the ultimate karma Trump and his supporters would deserve, to sit back and watch Biden and the new Dem majority reverse everything Trump has done to the point where it would render his presidency irrelevant. Not to mention the Supreme Court, so many things.

But I'm not holding my breath. Democrats are known for throwing away what should be easy victories.

Doesn't change what I said.

Don't like Gallup now? (not surprising). Check Rasmussen. His approval numbers are in the gutter there too. He's a failure.

Someone should have told that to the WI Democrats, who waited over 2 hours outdoors exposed to the cold & the virus, determined to toss-out the WI SC incumbent judge - which they did. Handily.

Wouldn't it be a kick to say Proshchay (goodbye) to Leningrad Lindsey?
