Trump / DeSantis 2024? Keep seeing bits and bops, your thoughts?

Trump/DeSantis 2024 ticket... will it happen?

I'd quite like Trump to run again just to see him try and defend his own record in the debates.
Any half decent dabater should be able to totally destroy him by just pointing to his actions and asking him to justify them.

Even the Republican Primaries will be a total bloodbath for his credability to anyone other than the hardcore Trump fans and there's not enough of those to win in 2024.
To me it seems everytime the left tries to get him, they can't and fail miserably, and he becomes even more popular. IF he does run and it seems likely he will win, I think they left is out of less than bright ideas and will just get the deep state to assassinate him. Never underestimate the wickedness of the left.

DeSantis is the perfect replacement for Trump.

"Nearly everyone I talked to who knew DeSantis commented on his affect: his lack of curiosity about others... One former associate told me that his demeanor stems from a conviction that others have advantages that were denied to him. “The anger comes more easily to him because he has a chip on his shoulder,” she said....

Some recalled that DeSantis was so intensely focussed that he wasn’t much of a teammate. “Ron is the most selfish person I have ever interacted with,” another teammate told me. “He has always loved embarrassing and humiliating people."

Well, when you put DeSantis up against Creepy Uncle Joe, the choice to vote for DeSantis becomes a no-brainer.

The problem with your plan is that trump has a "secret" debate technique, just shout over your opponent so they can't be heard, then declare victory.

Just curious what thoughts have y'all. One thing I saw in a tweet was Trump makes a deal with DeSantis, be the VP and he'll step down after the 2026 mid-terms citing "age/health" giving DeSantis a potential 10 years in office.
Desantis will catapult by Trump by using the now well documented attempt to set aside the 2020 election against him, calling Trump a traitor to the office. He might even call for his prosecution. I expect Desantis to make this move around January 2023. Trump is toast, politically speaking.

After Trump has thrown Pence under the bus and is about to throw Eastman under another bus, no one in their right mind would hitch their horse to Trump.

Florida still needs DeSantis. VP would be a waste.
DeSantis is much younger than Trump, and he's not going to hitch his wagon to Trump. I don't think he'll go up against Trump, but I don't think DeSantis gains by running as Trump's running mate. If Trump runs in 2024, it will definitely be his last hurrah. DeSantis has the next 25 years to think about.

I highly doubt that either of them could stand to be on the same ticket with the other. They are too much alike and too narcissistic in nature to allow someone else to be "above" them in that way.

Either of them would be a terrible choice for President though too.
Since you said it, we should run Desantis.

What war are we currently involved in that is the doing of the President? Incomes are rising now more than they have in a long time. Inflation and shortages are a global issue due to a years long global pandemic. That is what happens. The conflict/war we are seeing is due to tdfg's good friend and leader of Russia.
EYE ROLL, LOL. Yeah, keep telling yourself that. You forgot to blame Putin.

If DeSantis were smart, he should wait it out a bit and hope that the situation in DC changes drastically. Hopefully the right has enough collective intelligence to use the upcoming Red Tsumani to finally clean house and drain the swamp and get the federal government to start addressing the country's problems for a change. With a functional government I think DeSantis would be a great POTUS. With the dysfunctional federal government in place at the moment, why subject himself to the merciless daily attacks and being thwarted at each and every attempt to actually do something for the american people?

The GOP will not drain any swamp. They are part of the swamp. Both parties and the press are owned by the military industrial complex and intelligence community. That's who our masters are. Trump was our only chance. They destroyed him. My suspicion is that if he runs and if he shows any chance of winning, he will meet a timely (in his opponent's view) demise. He will never make it to a second term. The Establishment has already shown us what they are capable of.

Then it's about time to develop a third party of independents who aren't completely beholden to big money. I know it will be next to impossible and both sides plus the deep state will do everything possible to squash it, but a strong threat of a third party may be enough to convince one of the existing parties to at least moderate its corruption and serve the people better.

Won't work - it's not just big money. It's the CIA and the NSA - just look at all the times Brennan and the other "current and former intelligence officials" threw wrenches in the works over the past 5 years. They would say anything to get rid of Trump. It was disgusting, and it showed just how powerful they are. They did it in plain sight, and got away with it, sending a clear message that it (a Trump like figure, independent of the military industrial complex) will never happen again.

Well, then it's kinda' funny how both sides scream all day long about protecting democracy, yet the politicians on both sides really don't represent the voters' interests, and the establishment, which is unaccountable to the voters, has far more say in the governance of the country than the voters do. Call it what you want, but I don't think the american voters have much power at all. What I can't understand is why the entire country is so in love with their favorite party and gets all worked up trying to support it while their favorite party shits on them. Now thats a headscratcher.

A third party hasn’t survived because the voters haven’t backed one in sufficient numbers.
I do think there are enough never Drumpfers who won’t vote D to form one, with conservative Indy voter, to make a good showing, while making sure the Slug loses, again. If they had a strong enough candidate. Maybe even making the MAGA party the new whigs.

One side may be screaming about saving democracy while passing laws to make voting harder, banning books & trying to repeal Obamacare & control women’s bodies & putting a gun in every hand. While obstructing laws for the betterment of all Americans.
While one side is trying to preserve the planet, make health care accessible for all, as well as higher education.

No way the RNC is going to back Trump.
Trump lost by the largest popular vote difference in Presidential election history.
Was impeached twice.
And now the truth is coming out about his illegal post election activities.

Regimes that have attempted to ban History have eventually had to ban Intellectuals. Regimes that ban Intellectuals eventually have to jail & or kill them.

And banning, jailing and killing LGBTQ and other of the marginalized.

The RNC is paying some of the former Guys legal expenses & he ain't even in any office, nor do they pertain to his being in office, but rather his Tax slight of hand. He owns the MAGA Kult, lock, stock & barrel.

DeSantis has and will have ample opportunity to embrace or distance himself from or for Trump.......my bet is he will do what his pocket book and ego tell him to do........i don't think he or any other of the current bag of repub ass kissers would reject Trump if the Foxican masses are still as many as they are now

They do not get along.

They do not get along.

I don't know about that. The media is trying hard to "create" some big rivalry, but I'm just not sure it's there. From your link:

"While there have been stories published about the budding rivalry between DeSantis and Trump, they have not stopped talking to each other. DeSantis, along with his wife Casey DeSantis, attended a star-studded wedding held at Mar-a-Lago in late April where they were seen chatting briefly with Trump and his wife, Melania."

Well, when you put DeSantis up against Creepy Uncle Joe, the choice to vote for DeSantis becomes a no-brainer.

You all do seem smitten by political leaders that are only in it for themselves.

One would think all the needless deaths Trump caused because he was afraid addressing the pandemic would hurt his re-election chances would cause folks to reconsider. But I guess they find self-centeredness an attractive trait in a leader.

I think this is about as bad as the so called "rivalry" is right now. And, as far as DeSantis not asking for Trump's endorsement in his 22 election - that's comical. Does anyone with a brain think DeSantis needs anyone's endorsement in his 2022 race?

"In a piece for this week's issue of The New Yorker, profile writer Dexter Filkins reports that — based on a personal conversation — former President Donald Trump believes he'd prevail over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the 2024 Republican primary, if each sought out the presidency through the GOP ticket.

A portion of Filkins' passage reads: "Trump told me that he was 'very close to making a decision' about whether to run. 'I don't know if Ron is running, and I don't ask him,' [Trump] said. 'It's his prerogative. I think I would win.' "
