"The Defense Department has begun restricting access to books and learning materials covering subjects from immigration to psychology in its school system serving U.S. military families...The effort affects curriculums for elementary school ages and up, and follows similar efforts at the U.S. military’s elite academies for prospective military officers. The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) serves about 67,000 students spread across 161 schools at military installations around the globe.

A list distributed with the memo details specific chapters from books, or entire books, that are no longer allowed during the compliance review. Among the newly restricted material is a chapter in a psychology course for advanced-placement high school students about gender and sexuality, a lesson for fifth-graders about how immigration affects the United States, and the book “Becoming Nicole,” a nonfiction work about a family coming to accept their transgender daughter.

The prohibited list also includes a bundle of instructional materials created for sixth-graders for Black History Month and a biography about Albert Cashier, a transgender man who served in the Union Army during the Civil War."

No, they just don't want students to be indoctrinated by lunatics. You can be pro LGB rights without being a cheerleader and propagandist for mental illness. The tyrannical approach by the left is the issue. We also don't have religion in school for same reason. So they CAN think for themselves. Gender dysphoria isn't a biological truth. It's a mentally illness. To be respected for sure, but worshiped??? Uh uh honey

Left wing radicals have no business in schools. Period. The mellisa click decade is over. Accept it. 2 genders. Olusca tiny percentage of confused and abused people.. and an even much smaller percentage of ACTUAL intersex people.. no, you can NOT choose your gender. Because I can think for myself I declare this obvious truth. Duhhh.

80 % of former trans people agree. I'm not bieng mean. You accept mental illness and respect it in it's merits. But you don't worship it. The Democrats are gaslighting. Virtue signaling. Well this thread has some... interesting posts.

Anyway, Trump needs to stay the hell away from our education, President or not. He's terrible. He probably couldn't even read most of the books being banned.

It has taken decades - decades - through blood, sweat and tears for disabled Americans to gain public accommodations, public acceptance, and to benefit from a semblance of equality.

When you and Trump/Musk/MAGA deny equality and equity to Americans you in essence deny it to yourself. The majority of Americans will have a disability before they die. I hope you get a disability you like. Constantly being denied equal rights is a mofo. You'll see.

When Trump/Musk/MAGA attack DEI and uninformed people like you support those attacks you all severely harm the progress that has been made. Some estimate that it will take 10 years to regain the progress people with disabilities have made to date.

When Trump/Musk/MAGA attack DEI your collective willful ignorance and hatred directly harms America's disabled veterans in more ways than you know. In fact, somewhere between 30 to 40 percent of federal employees are disabled veterans. At this point, we have no way of knowing how many disabled veterans will be tossed out of careers they have struggled to get and worked to keep.
