Trump’s allies have long flattered him with the idea that his likeness belongs in granite alongside George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt.

“I know, I know — yeah, I would have,” Trump told host Dan Bongino during a podcast discussion published Wednesday, agreeing with Bongino’s suggestion that Trump would have been added to the South Dakota monument if he were a Democrat.

Trump also told Bongino that if he chooses to seek a second term in 2024, he’s likely to announce the decision immediately after the November 2022 congressional midterm elections.

Isn't that a knock on his own supporters?

Obviously if he ran as a Democrat he'd have been pretending to care about the issues Democrats care about, so he's saying Democrats are generally more supportive of their politicians than Republicans, yeah?

If Trump was prepared to play the part to earn that honor (possibly the least likely thing to ever happen, for any proposition bettors out there) then I don't doubt for a second that he would have been so honored.

Heck, maybe he'll run in 2024 as a Democrat and get it right this time.
