Trump Calls Georgia Runoffs 'Invalid' As Polls Tighten, 3 Million Vote Early

Jeopardizing the GOP's chances in Georgia was an absolutely daft thing to do; one which should have been the point where the GOP jettisoned Trump into the abyss he's dug for himself.

OTH, the Republicans, namely Mitch McConnell, should have neutralized Trump in November after all of the networks declared the winner. Trump could have had his temper tantrum / melt down then rather than allowing it to go on and on and on right into the Georgia run-offs.

The Republicans problems today are largely rooted in the fact of the cowardice toward Trump from the day he took office. They have been allowed themselves to be whipping boys rather than having put Trump in check long ago. Left unchecked, the Trump monster just got larger and larger and harder to control. As a consequence, the Republicans lost Georgia as a pathetic team.

Trump is realizing his lies don't work for everyone. Everything he has touched has turned to poison. The reps will very quickly disown him as happens so quickly in politics. When he promotes something it fails. All the hugs will turn to daggers in Trump's back and he will be cast out of the conservative arena. Recall what happened to Eugene McCarthy ad how fast it happened. Trump is a hideous psychopath suffering from delusions of a Grand Leader when all he is a whimpering little boy in a room of men.
"whimpering little boy in a room of adults." Fixed it for you, as women loom large in politics and voting.

In this regard the GOP didn't do itself any favors. When McConnell congratulated Biden after it became clear there was no path for Trump legally, and not because they were taking any kind of stand to calm the rhetoric from Trump.

Yep, they could have done a lot better at curbing Trump when he went off his leash, but they chose to keep a sycophantic approach toward handling him. They would have had more credibility had they served as a check against Trump, but it's clear they were more concerned about offending the Trump base.

Trump has done significant damage to the republican party. He will now likely face criminal charges both from his business activities and his time as president. I would hope that republicans would support his prosecution.

Trump could not have gotten to where he got without the help of the Dem party. Assaulting democracy can't do much damage to the Rep party, but only the party that more adheres to democracy.

the Trump Soap Opera is canceled.
This is no longer a soap opera. It has gone far beyond that and Trump and the Senators who support him regarding the election in November should be held accountable. The only good that has come out of this is gaining the Dems controlling the Senate.
