no thanks. I'd rather focus on you and what you are saying. I find you as insulting as he is.
We cannot toss history and the truth into a wastebasket for the convenience of people who speak as you do.
Since the conversation has shifted toward the concept of "chain immigration" being significant as an insult to african americans, without diminishing the horrors of the african american slave experience in this nation, let's remind ourselves, they weren't the only enslaved people who suffered here. Native americans, white indentured people from britain and the rest of europe, low wage immigrants whose wages were kept low because of institutionalized slavery, were all victims of slave brutality. On the other hand, no one, and i do mean no one, speaks of the african americans who immigrated here purposefully with intent to build better lives for themselves. They account for 20% of african american ancestry. Their contributions remain neglected, and they were all educated and skilled peoples. Many came here to work the whaling, fishing and merchant shipping industries which helped make this nation great. Putting aside today's abhorrence, politically correct abhorrence of whaling, it is one of the industries that was inimical to the american success story. Keeping american nights lit with whale oil, allowing for intellectual growth regardless of political leanings. I find it insulting and bigoted that these people who were educated, often in britain and france for generations, who came here to build a better future here are forgotten. Can you name even one of the 2 dozen lauded american authors and poets descended from the dumas, pere et fils, the authors of the great french novels like the three musketeers, the count of monte cristo, and so forth, who are alive today and writing? Their families came here to build an great american culture, from france, not africa, but they are of african descent.
I'm grateful for trump. He may be a vile, disgusting, vulgar, bigoted piece of human trash, but without him we would not be having many of the dialogs over concerns that have remained under the radar for far too long, encouraging prejudices from both sides of the political aisle, inclusive of the patronizing liberals who have done more damage than the jim crow enthusiasts. Please do tell all about the anti-chinese associations of the american west, and the american east. You know, the yellow peril. How about the lynchings of jews and papists that took place just as the more easily targeted black americans? Do the names of leo frank, joseph p. Macheca, antonio scaffidi, antonio marchesi, katsu goto, look young and antonio rodriguez mean to you?
Don't tell me what my focus should be. Let's talk about your hypocrisy and focus. And the same goes for every other big mouthed politically correct outraged bs artist claiming the moral high ground.
