Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting[W:985]***

Re: Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting

And here we have TrumpPence2020 calling a poster as moderate as Hitler, the father of today's alt-right ...

LOL!! A lifelong New Yorker, molded by the great melting pot of New York, friend to all, and never ever thought of as a racist for his 70 years, all of a sudden at age 70 he magically became a racist and the father of the Alt Right. LOLLLLLL

I would say that you should write children's fairytale books, but its probably best if you weren't allowed near any kids.

Re: Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting

Hollywood should send its leftists to the White House to teach Trump how to avoid using vulgarities in pubic spaces:

It's truly unbelievable that some are so simple as to not realize that this is not about a swear word.

Re: Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting

Actually, what they said is "We do not recall the president saying these comments specifically"

Let's also remember that Trump only denied saying it about "the Haitians" and never denied saying it about "Africa".

I see yer still talking about other posters, TrumpPence2020 ...

Yep, it is about being a statesman, or being trash.

Re: Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting

When will the stop defending him? Where is the bottom of the bucket?

It's pretty concerning for the future of our country, but I'm sure that 'bottom' is still pretty far away :(

Not to mention humiliation and shame that will now follow our country's history for all the future.

Re: Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting

It's not about insensitivity.

It's about the low-brow, racist views held by a head of state and one not giving a **** about the harm it can do.

Well, no, the quota system that prioritizes Haitians over Norwegians is racist. Asking why we should focus on Haiti over Norway is just a valid question on policy.

Moving from a lottery system to a merit system would likely also lead to immigrants being predominantly Indian and Chinese because there is simply more people there, and therefore more skilled people. The system that Trump supports would also benefit skilled Haitians over unskilled Haitians.

Trump's policy question, however stated, is valid.. there is little to no benefit to the US to allow an unskilled, uneducated Haitian into the country who would end up on the dole over a skilled trade-person from Norway, or China, or anywhere else including Haiti.

Not if they are entering based on refugee or other hardship status.

Re: Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting

So much for your tired, your poor, your huddled masses. Immigration shouldn't always be an employment opportunity. Sometimes it's about humanity.

Sometimes..... I'm all for humanitarian relief.

But we both know, it's mostly done for employment.

Re: Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting

Nice rant. \.

It is not a rant but a fact. All of North, South, and Central America were colonies of European powers. How each country turned out is a direct result of the people living there. Sorry but those are the facts.

And South and Central America did not have the great immigration influx during the Industrial Revolution that the US did. The addition of all that diversity.

Re: Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting

What ideology is that?

They do not believe in fighting for their freedom. They think they can run to it. Sorry but our freedom will only last as long as we are willing to fight and die for it. It is quite obvious they are not otherwise they would not need to run here.

Re: Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting

I have to chuckle when I see the liberal faux outrage among some of these very posters on here that were making or liking posts by other members who were calling some southern states inside their own country "**** holes" or words to that effect on a few other threads.

****ing hypocrites! :lamo

Re: Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting

No. Your argument is "unless the person confirms it, it never happened".

By the way, Senator Durbin confirmed that Trump said it. He was in that room. Lindsey Graham was there too. Let's see if he's honest or not.

Unreal. You don't know what a conspiracy theory apparently is, Kal. Let me share a few with you:

1. 9/11 was an inside job
2. Hoover had Kennedy killed
3. The victims of Sandy Hook never existed and the parents were hired actors

Easy to name conspiracy theories. I could direct you to a forum that has more conspiracy theories than you can shake a stick at. Fact of the matter is that what I said is true. A conspiracy theory is an argument presented that does not have proof or evidence to confirm the claim. Again, used to be that evidence was required by news agencies before they ran with crap stories. ....well...at least from legitimate news agencies. There's always been quack "news" agencies.

Now, you tell me how any of them even closely resemble the comments that the President made that have been confirmed by Dick Durbin and the White House did not deny saying. How?

Here's an article I just read on what Durbin had to say. Yes, he claims that Trump did indeed say that. But guess what...you have others that were at the meeting that says they don't recall Trump saying it. So who do you believe? Durbin who is a Democrat and against Trump or the two Republican Senators who would no doubt support Trump? The logical answer is to either not believe any of them which means the neutral response would be "its possible Trump said it but there is no definitive proof". Or you give more credence to what multiple people are saying. Which means you believe the Republican Senators. That would be consistent considering how many believe Trump sexually assaulted those women based on the claims of multiple women. So there's your choices...neutral...which means you keep your mind open and can't definitively holler about Trump saying it or you can stay consistent and go on the side which definitively says Trump didn't say it. ....assuming that you want what is actually fair and just.

Dick Durbin refutes Trump, says he did say "sh*tholes" -- repeatedly

Durbin's claim:
When the question was raised about Haitians, for example, we have a group that have temporary protected status in the United States because they were the victims of crises and disasters and political upheaval. The largest group is El Salvadoran. The second is Honduran and the third is Haitian, and when I mentioned that fact to him, he said 'Haitians? Do we need more Haitians?' And then he went on and started to describe the immigration from Africa that was being protected in this bipartisan measure. That's where he used these vile and vulgar comments, calling the nations they come from "sh*tholes" -- the exact word used by the president not just once, but repeatedly.

Two Republican Senators claim:
"President Trump brought everyone to the table this week and listened to both sides. But regrettably, it seems that not everyone is committed to negotiating in good faith," they said. "In regards to Senator Durbin's accusation, we do not recall the President saying these comments specifically but what he did call out was the imbalance in our current immigration system, which does not protect American workers and our national interest. We, along with the President, are committed to solving an issue many in Congress have failed to deliver on for decades."

Think I'll stay neutral. It's possible Trump stated what is claimed. But there is no definitive proof that he did say it.

Re: Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting

Let's also remember that Trump only denied saying it about "the Haitians" and never denied saying it about "Africa".

I don't see the comments hurting Trump. Anyone who doesn't like him now didn't like him on Election Day, 2015. And it's not like he isn't stating the obvious: Africa IS a ****hole--full of promise with tremendous natural wealth, but perpetually short on delivery with almost constant famine, warfare, corruption, and just general misery. Life can be great if you are at the top of the pile, but a living hell for everyone else.

Lindsey Graham told Tim Scott that the reporting of what Trump said was accurate.

LOL!!!

I knew this would be all the rage.
News Flash: Haiti is a sh1thole.
I don't think Donny should have tweeted it, but that is one of the reasons he was elected...
He's a direct product of the US political system.

HERE IS THE BOTTOM LINE:
The only people who want to talk about this stupid sideshow topic are the people who DON'T want to talk about the fact that in Trump's first year the stock market has boomed, GDP growth has improved and unemployment is at an almost 17-year low, the biggest set of tax cuts in over 30 years, 10 regulations abolished for each new one added, boosting pay for our troops, growing our military, the nation’s new policy "America First", arrests of people trying to cross illegally into the United States from Mexico are at the lowest point since 1971.

And now, your taxes are cut. Your checks will be bigger.

People who are offended by Trump's statement are people who WANT to be offended, who NEED to be offended. Normal average guys heard what Trump said and said to themselves, yah, that's right, why DO we want losers from ****hole countries pouring in here.

Trump is making America great again and all indicators are up. If he curses along the way, I'll be cursing right beside him.

Re: Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting

trump built his racist base on the birther issue--settled history ...

See, your mind is closed on the matter. So its simply not worth discussing it with you anymore. Sad that.

Re: Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting

It is true that conspiracy theory should be required to show proof by way of evidence, I agree. Any conspiracy should be able to show proof of its theory, if you know what I mean. More evidence the better, I say, being a conspiracy theorist. I think it's a sign of curiosity.

You're comparing posters on a message board to the President of the United States. That's actually your first problem.

Secondly, you didn't address what most of us are talking about, which is how he wants people here from Norway and not from black countries.

Third, you're right. Hypocrites are everywhere. Many people who had meltdowns about what Obama said (like me) aren't giving Trump a pass for what he said (like you). That's because we aren't hypocrites.

The outrage isn't just among liberals. It actually can be found in decent Republicans who are embarrassed by the comments of the President. Including many Republican lawmakers, particularly the black ones like Tim Scott and Mia Love.

Re: Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘****hole’ countries in Oval Office meeting

No it doesnt. There's an entirely economic component to immigration that has nothing to do with ethnicity, race, or culture.

Yes, but you need to distinguish between ILLEGAL immigration and legal immigration. The economic component is true, but the way that the GOP and Trump is pushing the agenda, it is more about the ethnicity, race and/or culture of the people than anything else. It hurts the legal immigration as well, and that is a problem for American industry since America can produce the correct type of workers that are needed.

And if it was the economic component that was important, then the Trump administration and the GOP would be hitting down HARD as hell on companies/people who hire illegal immigrants.. they dont and wont. Instead they are going after the illegals full out, not taking into consideration anything and making it about "those damn latinos" and hence making it about race, religion or ethnicity.

The illegals would not be there, if there were no jobs. As long as companies and people hire them.. then they will come. It would be far cheaper to hurt the companies and people who hire illegals than to build a freaking useless wall along the border. It is pretty easy.. get caught with illegals.. you get fined 80% of the profits of that year. Get caught a second time, your company gets seized and its assets sold off. Just watch how few companies would hire illegals...

You can't make this **** up. He has the political savvy of a wounded badger in heat.

Why would a wounded badger be in heat? It is wounded.

I've known for years that POTUS controls the US economy is a false premise. POTUS can influence the economy, but he damn well does not control it.
