Trump and the gop are losing support in the shut-down battle for one simple reason, they control all of government.

Dear Readers,

The government is not shutdown.

75% of the government is still up and running. Only about 25% of employees are furloughed.

We don’t have government shutdowns in this country, we have government slowdowns.

WW
Maybe so for now, but FNS just informed all States that there is no money to fund SNAP for Nov. So the tide is about to get ****ing ugly.
Especially when MAGA in red states realize their SNAP is also going to be unfunded in Nov.

Republicans can end all filibusters with a simple majority, without a single Democratic vote. The government remains shut down because Republicans have chosen to keep it shut down.
And when they want to, they will ride in like Captain Save-A-Hoe to "fix" everything.
I anticipate it will be soon, now that FNS has informed states that there will be no SNAP in Nov.

Do you not understand the democrats are trying to add pork to it, and unless they can have their pork, they will not vote for it?

But bacon tastes GOOD. Pork chops taste GOOD.

Listen, that's the threshold for passing a bill in the Senate. The Democrats have no obligation to just give Trump whatever he wants. Congress is supposed to compromise and come up with a solution that both sides can agree on. Trump is too weak and stupid to do this.
The GOP offered to extend health care subsidies for a year.
You don't see that as a compromise? Why not?

First off, you're replying to a ten day old post.

Second: Has the bill been put on the floor for a vote?

Third: are their any safeguards proposed to prevent Trump from just unilaterally declaring the funds wont actually be allocated? This is the problem you have when your side has set up an unaccountable executive branch. The legislative branch can't trust that any appropriation votes are honored.

Then I guess we are doomed.
Get your passport for Costa Rica and get away from what Trump is doing.

Do you not understand that this is a clean extension of current law?

Do you not understand the democrats are trying to add pork to it, and unless they can have their pork, they will not vote for it?
Is this administration going to govern by cr's and just keep kicking the can down the road instead of learning how to govern and stop trying to rule. Pork was keeping tax rates low for billionaires the Democrats are sticking up for health care, are you a billionaire?

Except if the Republicans really controlled the government there wouldn’t be a shutdown. Either you don’t understand how our government works, or you’re lying.
Let's try a simpler version. Does the gop control the house? Does the gop control the Senate? Does the gop control the white house? Are the conservative justices of the supreme court mostly conservatives? Now, you wanna' try again?

Pork is out of season this year. Our president does not like pork. He already is carrying enough himself.

You responded to no points raised and therefore the conversation ends.

Christopher Moynihan was sentenced in 2023 to 21 months incarceration, 36 months supervised release for crimes related to the storming of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Trump gave him a full pardon.

Christopher Moynihan was arrested for "threats to kill a member of Congress."
Trump’s embattled nominee to lead the Office of Special Counsel, told a group of fellow Republicans in a text chain the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday should be “tossed into the seventh circle of hell” and said he has “a Nazi streak,” according to a text chat viewed by POLITICO.

“MLK Jr. was the 1960s George Floyd and his ‘holiday’ should be ended and tossed into the seventh circle of hell where it belongs,” Ingrassia wrote.

"Trump is demanding that the Justice Department pay him about $230 million in compensation for the federal investigations into him, according to people familiar with the matter, who added that any settlement might ultimately be approved by senior department officials who defended him or those in his orbit," Times.

Trump is not very bright. The evidence against him is overwhelming, and all that may come out again before this is over. There are prosecutors who would love to get the chance. The same is true of the media.

This fool is our President!

This clown has withdrawn as a nominee.

Those who understand the truth aren't being fooled.

There are 3 democrats now voting to end the filibuster.

It's likely others are to follow.

Schumer's shutdown.
More baseless reich-wing bullshit.

Turn the faux off and stop telling lies.

Those who know the GOP majorities refuse to compromise with the minority party aren't being fooled. They realize only too well that compromise is one of the essentials of governing a democracy.

77 million people voted for him in a free and fair election.
That's democracy for you. The plurality of votes gave him a great victory.
What is it you're upset about? Democracy didn't work for you?

He'll be around for a little more than three years.
We all need to learn to live with it.
Have more NO KINGS protests if that makes everyone feel better.

CNN is doing it's usual supportive roll of the democrats.

So you don’t understand how the legislative process works, especially in the Senate.

And the Dems refuse to open the government and come to the table for health care discussions.
Who's in the wrong here?
Why are the maga Congress unable to engage in reconciliation?
