Trump administration poised to accept 'palace in the sky' as a gift for Trump from Qatar: Sources (1 Viewer)

Also, 100% chance this plane will have bugs on it.
The Secret Service has said they will have to rip it right apart and put it back together again to ensure security. It will be expensive and time consuming. I think who ever said that best be polishing their resume.

yeah kinda sorta

in the 70's ??? we were building a new embassy in moscow and had the russians 'help us'.

upon inspection the thing was bugged from sidewalk level to the sky. we leveled the whole thing and started over.

anyone remember that story?

are we having fun yet, LOL

.

Nothing to see here, just a foreign country openly bribing the president. Again, I must say that the openness of this man's corruption is just so refreshing!

So he will get to use this for his term, then it will go to his library, thus the country will then need to furnish the next POTUS with a new one?
Yeah, that seems on the up and up.

shrug...

If he wants to, but why would he want to use a 13 year old plane when he'll have a brand new one?
What a stupid non-answer.
Says right in the release it is going to the Trump Library in 2029. Do the math, does the next POTUS get to use it or not?

Trump is giddy at the thought of getting a USED jet from a middle eastern country.
t probably already has a gold toilet.

It should not be accepted.
It should not go to Trump's 'library' - which does not exist.

Right on time...

i like it, thank you

4% of the population of the world and yet 75% of the drug revenue spent.

head scratcher on that one my sheep friends?

.

It has to be transferred to Trump's "foundation" no later than Jan 1, 2029. Why?
Because the next President will take office Jan 20th, 2029 and would likely put a stop to this idiocy.
Trump doesn't want to take any chances on losing this particular prize.
It should not be accepted, since it is clearly a violation of the Emoluments clause.
If it is, it should remain the possession of the Air Force, in order to directly benefit the American people.

He's really leaning into this gift from a foreign government.

He thinks there are 340mil stupid mother****ers in the US.
Or that all 340mil of us were never told, from a young age, that there are no such things as "free lunches".
What an ungodly morose mother****er we have here.

I think you missed the 3rd and 4th chin.

yur attitude determines yur altitude; change altitudes, go to flight level 70 please.

although i loathe Dark Maga, and no one here will touch it for whatever reason. (it doesn't matter, people afraid of Truth my guess)

i still respect our King, and you should too.

and don't tell me that Orange is not a King. Monarchy is in his blood; Orange is an american success story moving from a Real Estate developer to King and Potentate over the american empire.

don't stop there...

soon he will double the Size of our Empire with canada, mexico, greenland, cuba and other territories.

as he says World, we will WIN so much, you will get tired of winning. LOL

kind of exaggerated but that is our King who uses humor to get his point across, just don't Cross him as he is acting in mostly Benevolent ways.

seems we have More Winning with the Tariffs, more winning with the Free Jet, more Winning with the Border, more Winning fighting drugs.

more Winning people. .............got it yet?

blessings forever and ever.

Question: Which should be the official aircraft of the President of the United States?

WW

Earlier today, RFK Jr. said "Trump can't be bought!"

Syria: "Hold my beer!"

Any potential legal issues have been carefully examined. Trump is not being given the gift. I believe the Air Force will take possession first and then the plane will be transferred to the Presidential Library Foundation.

I actually shocked the people on the right don't see this as a problem. If "the gift" is to replace Air Force 1 - even on a temporary basis - and given to the Air Force for the president to use even as delays in delivering a replacement AF1 craft has ran into snags, i.e., maintenance issues, cost overruns, etc., it still should be the permanent property of the United States government, not something the current Grifter-N-Chief gets to have handed over to him once he leaves office for his personal use. And let's be clear: Even if the claim is that the aircraft will go to the Air Force, somebody holding public office, i.e., the Secretary of the Air Force, the Secretary of the Defense, has to accept it on behalf of the United States and the President there to. Thus, no matter how you slice it, this "gift" would still violate the Emoluments Clause (Art. 1, Section 9, clause 8) and, as such, would still need to be approved by Congress.
The Air Force will do the modifications. Do you think the U.S. Air Force has the "knowledge, smarts or patience" to get that job done properly? I do.

That may be, but the aircraft should remain with the Air Force's fleet of aircrafts and not turned over to the Grifter-N-Chief as he heads out the White House. (Assuming he ever leaves.)

The delays on delivery of those planes have been crazy - delays of many years and, even if they roll just one out in 2027, that's still a delay of many years.

And? The current AF1 plane has sufficed so far. What's another few months to a year gonna hurt?

Seems extremely wasteful esp of its just going to a "presidential library" in a few years

But why is Air Force One now a Qatar plane?
Because the Boeing delays have gotten untenable. The current planes are now 35 years old. Do you see any problem with presidents flying around in 35 year old aircraft, while Boeing announces delays many years past the plan? I do. One of the most important things for a president is their safety and protection.

Just in time to sit in a parking lot at the DJT Library. I hope they at least use it as an event center for weddings and parties. Seems a shame to take apart a plane and not use it for anything other than display.
🙂

Sure, which is why a jet built by another country isn't the best idea because it would have to be dismantled and inspecting for spying devices and building out for it to be in spec for AF1.
