Trump’s top general calls ex-president ‘fascist to the core’ and ‘most dangerous person to this country,’ new book says

Mark Milley, the US Army general who Donald Trump appointed as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, now says the current Republican presidential nominee is a “fascist to the core” and says no person has ever posed more of a danger to the United States than the man who served as the 45th President of the United States.
More and more are speaking up

I think government by its nature is fascistic in nature and a man thats spent his whole life ordering tens of thousands of people around is going to have a fascist outlook to people looking to attack them for anything they can come up with,,
and anything trump does pales in comparison to what the democratic party does
they passed being fascist decades ago and are working their way to full authoritarianism,,

FFS some are even pushing doing away with the constitution

as for miley he should be in prison for failure to follow orders and lying to POTUS,,
As for fascism, what is bolded above is a prime example of fascist beliefs. Ever heard of the trials at Nuremberg? Just following orders was their defense. That's fascism.

Perhaps because the rank and file never have direct access to or dealings with the CiC?
Yes and the rank and file know Trump is a shit about the armed forces and the national security. They don't like Trump any more than Milley does or their colonel does to include their captain too and their first sergeant and their sergeant major. Trump's name is shit among the armed forces members and their families. Trump's flaming rhetoric about the Insurrection Act and rounding up immigrants and machine guns at the border and so on is anathema to the active duty force across all the services. It's not what the American armed forces are and do. That Trump has no clue has severed the connection between the armed forces members and their families and the commander in chief. The armed forces will not fall in for Trump for any of his madness against Americans in America.

so a person with an opinion is fascism,,

I did not know that,,

Bla bla bla. And still, no answer or evidence? I'm starting to think you're just lonely. Who was it that was talking about doing away with or "suspending" the Constitution? Was that Biden?

Yes, one worked with him, saw him in briefings and attended with him at national security meetings. The other saw him on Fox and at rallies.
There is no disconnect.

The USA armed forces are not the Communist Party People's Liberation Army in Tiananmen Square 1989.

The armed forces personnel up and down the ranks are united on this. It's a given. The oath is to the Constitution that mandates democracy, it is not to a Caesar. It is a serious business. When you swear your oath you are committing your life for it.

Those who need to hear and understand this have already dismissed it as “Trump haters” and “TDS”

and to govern they have to dictate what people and businesses can or cant do,,ie a degree of fascism,,
"degree" is doing some really heavy lifting here. Laws and regulations are not in and of themselves fascist. This is diversionary. Milley says: Trump is fascist to the core. @rational anarchist says: yeah, but laws and regulations!

sigh

Mark Alexander Milley (born June 20, 1958) is a retired United States Army general who last served as the 20th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from October 1, 2019, to September 30, 2023. He previously served as the 39th chief of staff of the Army from August 14, 2015, to August 9, 2019, and held multiple command and staff positions in eight divisions and special forces throughout his military career.

Bottom line, this is what we're dealing with here.

This, Milley's military accomplishments>

As opposed to this>

A five time cowardly draft dodger and convicted felon, who said US soldiers who died in France in WW2 were losers and suckers. Milley's assessment of Trump is spot on.
Yes and Milley is a graduate of Princeton Army ROTC with his major in Political Science.

He has a master's degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the US Naval War College.

A master's degree in International Relations from Columbia.

Graduated the MIT Seminar XXI National Security Studies Program.

Virtually all officers who become generals and admirals have this kind of academic record and background. It's a prerequisite. As the humor of it goes, they're overqualified to become Potus/C'nC.
