Trump’s first task is herculean: closing the border. Here are his plans.

They have a truly fundamental misunderstanding about undocumented immigration.
How will agriculture, construction, hospitality, and other industries respond to losing 8 million workers? How will they recoup the revenue losses in having to hire Americans/legal residents at higher wages/benefits? Where would they pass those loses along? How will the economy in general be impacted when 8 million workers are no longer here spending their wages in the US?

Rhetorical questions, of course.

They would have to raise wages and continue automation.

Federal law should be followed. That's simple to understand. As far as funding, if you don't need it no problem if they tie it to following the federal law. Don't want to hurt anyone but illegals need to be apprehended and sent in front of immigrations courts to determine what their fate should be.

Let's try legal immigration. This easy on crime attitude by liberals is not good for the nation. I have no problem with legal immigration but I don't think illegals need to remain unless they can meet the requirements of asylum and data says that's about 10%.

I thought you were all about state rights?

The federal government needs the money from my state more than we need the money from the federal government.

Deport 10 million illegal immigrants and import 10 million legal ones sounds like a lot of work to basically break even.

States that want to keep, house, and feed the illegal immigrants should be free to do so, but not cities. STATES.

And the States should get no federal funding to do so.

It’s always humorous to me when cons pretend to care about human rights.

He actually said he would end the Ukraine war with a phone call 24hrs after he was elected. But I do think he will cut off aid and leave the Ukrainians to fight without us. He cannot end the Ukraine war by himself and if he cannot get Putin to give up anything there will be war for years. You got played.

Putin is ready to talk to Trump but his Ukraine demands are unchanged, Kremlin says

  • Kremlin says Russia's goals in Ukraine are unaltered
  • Putin set out terms in June that Kyiv rejected
  • No details yet on possible Trump-Putin phone call

One must be realistic. Trump has a lot of power to close down border crossings and/or limit entry. However, if he tries to revoke those paroled into the US it is likely that suits will be filed and some federal judge somewhere will but stay on it. There are a myrid of excuses activist judges can use, such as it requiring a case by case review, due process hearings, yada yada yada.

The only chance Trump has to fundamentally change the system is through legislation, or the Supreme Court having the spine to back Presidential powers contained in existing legislation. The Courts, so far, havn't fully respected existing immigration law.

The Democrats will filibuster any legislation coming from the house or Senate majority, and the only way to get past that is tie it to budget reduction legislation. In other words, show that the legislation would result in a savings.

Not happening. We have our own job to do. This is the job of CBP and ICE.

"Unleash." Are we dogs? Kiss my entire ass.

CBP and ICE will be unleashed. Biden has put them on a leash and treated them worse than dogs.

Illegal immigrants, mostly, cross the border legally. But hey, if Trump pisses trillions down a hole in a desert so he can point at a wall, I guess the magatry will stomp and cheer.

Trump previously had them remain in Mexico while their claims were processed. Biden removed that.

During the first Trump term the cost was floated at as high as $20 billion. It could cost what we have sent the Ukraine aka $150 billion or more and it would be just fine. Democrats borrow $1.6 trillion a year. Cost concern trolling will fall at this stage.

You're not very good at this.

Do you think city police resources, already stretched thin, should be dedicated to doing the feds job for them?

Criminals in one area often commit crimes in another. When say a rapist from Guatamala is caught fighting and driving drunk in San Francisco, when he is in police custody a federal immigration will require they simply continue to hold him until the appropriate federal agencies can come and get him. Right now in sanctuary cities they refuse to share arrest information with federal agencies and will release that rapist with no bound and a court date to appear for drunk driving. When that man goes out and harms, kills or rapes some more, it could have been prevented.

The tariffs are to keep trade fair, not just free. Americans cannot impose wage requirements and environmental requirements on their own economy and then compete with other countries who do nothing like that.

You elected a pedophile.

Joe Biden was pushed out by his party. No one got to vote for him.

Show us the Federal money earmarked to states for the purpose of having local law enforcement enforce immigration law specifically.

But let's also add this bit.

These two rapist/murderers should have remained in Mexico. When they crossed and were apprehended, they should have been sent back home. Instead Americans suffer and die.

CBP and ICE will be unleashed. Biden has put them on a leash and treated them worse than dogs.
Good. Then they can do their job.

We have our own work to do.

They might have to go back to hiring American works, maybe even American union workers and good wages that would easily offset the cost of any tariff price increases.

They'll spend their wages locally.

Trump has had a little time to think about this.

You're not paying attention.
They cross the border legally. They're on holiday or visiting friends or family or going shopping. Do you think having a Hispanic name and accent disqualifies you from crossing the border? There's towns on the border where people cross back and forth trading dinner nights.
Oh, and then there's the student visas. They graduate and there's the job fairs and recruiting drives run by people who don't care much about federal paperwork that has no consequences for them.
What, did you think 20,000 pedestrians a day at San Ysidro alone are just standing wide-eyed and slack-jawed until the border agent gets impatient and tells them to go ahead?

Wealthy, powerful people make big bucks off cheap labour and you think Trump will stop it?
News for you, bud, Trump doesn't need anything from you or any other voters anymore, but he still needs those wealthy, powerful people.
He might build that wall because he knows it will have little effect. Wouldn't it be a hoot if some of the contractors on the job were Trump cronies with illegal workers?

So Trump’s plan won’t stop the majority of illegal immigration, sex trafficking, or drug trafficking. Good to know.

Trump doesn't do the thinking - his ability to develop a coherent plan is limited. It entirely depends on the campaign staff he has accumulated, of which there has been little public discussion. Since Trump burned through his former cadre' of competent and crazy advisors, this new group is relatively unknown. Picked for their early loyalty to Trump, it has been upto them to shape an effective agenda.

He has a competent Chief of Staff (his campaign manager) who only took the job with the assurance that she had 100 percent authority to decide who does and does not have access to Trump. I don't know if any of his prior people rejoined his campaign.

In any event, I have been a long time critic of our lax border policies and inability to deal with illegals and immigration the way it should be - according the the law. However, the courts have failed us...

So I've largely given up hoping for anything to be done.

Strange narrative for a guy who just won an election over indictments, judgements, assassination attempts and with a switcharoo plus the media being fully in the thank for Harris.

If that doesn't require any thinking then I'll have to not think like that a lot more often.

Your dismissal is noted. As are your lack of real reply.

He did decent attempt the first time but will go much harder this time. So yes I do think he will.
