No ....to serve your country with honor. I was drafted at the beginning of the Vietnam war and went where they sent me and I never thought about running away to Canada to avoid my counties needs..
And what did politics have to do with it? I think it was more about saving you own skin.
Oh by the way a democrat president signed my draft notice.
