I'm not surprised at all which is why under 18 kids should never do choice only trans drugs/surgeries

So-called "gender-affirming surgery" could lead to potentially dangerous mental health effects, a new study has found.

Transgender individuals face "heightened psychological distress," including depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation, "partly due to stigma and lack of gender affirmation," as stated in the study, which was published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine.

The study focused on 107,583 patients 18 and over with gender dysphoria, some who underwent surgery and others who did not. ( this was not a study of 150 people, this was a HUGE study)
Males with surgery had depression rates of 25% compared to males without surgery (11.5%). Anxiety rates among that group were 12.8% compared to 2.6%.

The same differences were seen among females, as those with surgery had 22.9% depression rates compared to 14.6% in the non-surgical group. Females who underwent surgery also had anxiety rates of 10.5% compared to 7.1% without surgery.

"In fact, taking a scalpel to treat a psychological disorder can sometimes lead to more issues, as the study results are elucidating."

OK.

All surgeries come with risks. This doesnt concern or affect me at all, nor does it affect one single person that I know.

Now......how are those grocery prices and rents coming along? Any word on that?

I know, let's ban them from sports, bathrooms and force them to identify as their assignment at birth.

That will cheer them up.

that's not what we've been told

nobody gets forced identity at birth - inny you're a girl, outty you're a boy .... its biology 101

Also the study cited doesn't even actually come close to affirming the claim in the headline (Fox News being dishonest as usual). The study states a link between surgeries and mental health issues, not a causal relationship.

A better explanation is that the people who require and get recommended surgeries suffer from more severe gender dysphoria in the first place - which in and of itself would lead to more mental health issues, suicidal ideations etc.

Trans people almost universally stand by gender affirming care and the vast majority have claimed that it saved their lives, including surgery.

Maybe if you're an anti-trans bigot 1) stop pretending you care about them 2) stop pretending you know what's best for them - that's between them and their doctor and 3) maybe if you actually gave a damn about their mental health stop trying to ban them from sports, bathrooms, locker rooms, and stop ****ing with their passports and their healthcare.

But it wouldn't be a right wing position if it wasn't motivated by complete bad faith.

Lol that's not the biological definition of sex and it hasn't been for some time now.

It's why the White House had to conjure up its own nonsense definition of "biological sex."

Unless it changes or doesn't fit the actual people. What you just described is not biology at all. It's simplification for those who are just learning things. Biologists disagree with your assessment.

Also, FOX and their "doctors" need to learn the difference between causation and correlation.

How does it feel to be completely powerless? I've personally administered gender affirming hormones to children, and I'll do it again. Are you gonna stop me? No. You can't do anything. So why don't you just complain some more instead. It's what you're best at.

Do you have a source other than Fox News?

It has been known for more than 50 years that gender dysphoria cannot be effectively treated psychologically with counseling and psychotropics. The DSM is clear on this.

Treatment for Gender Dysphoria

Fortunately treatment options exist that are beneficial for gender dysphoria, and these consist of psychotherapy, pharmacologic therapy, as well as other nonpharmacologic therapies, and sexual reassignment surgery (SRS) (Royal College of Psychiatrists, 2013). Professionals are changing pessimistic attitudes regarding SRS, plus more scientific evidence has shown the benefit of this procedure (Royal College of Psychiatrists, 2013). All the same, it should be stated that SRS does not automatically mean any issue is resolved, and much psychotherapy may be needed after the procedure in order to improve outcome generally (Cohen-Kettenis & Pfaf?in, 2009).

A prosper gender identity is determined before birth by hormones in utero, before the 15th week of gestation. This fact has been known for 30+ years. The question now is why it happens.

Bidenflation wreaked havoc, including billions that a federal judge just said we had to give away even though Trump stopped it. With that money, we could give you free food.

Pure fear mongering. Studies show that republicans are less informed than the kids who watch pbs during the day.

Don't forget ****ing up their passports.

If a passport is not biologically accurate then international assassins will be able to travel easier and that makes assassinations more likely.

The only way to stop you would be to take away your medical license. How old were the children because maybe that should happen.
