You totally missed the point, perhaps with reason. Show a picture of Xi as Winnie the Pooh to the customs agent and see what happens. I live and work in China. I have yet to be searched. That does not mean I will play the fool and keep such a picture. Maybe, you would.
You seem to support it.

1. This was the excuse they gave to rationalize kicking him out.
So i suppose the many times i've seen on said programs people being refused for drug use for years has just been an excuse to cover for some other stupid reason?
The real reason for denying him entry was for having a meme about JD Vance on his phone. Because Trump is a whiny little baby.
As stated by the party involved. Have authorities recieved a new handbook stating anyone with a bald Vance picture shall be denied.
Laughable.
2. How many foreigners from Europe have used marijuana at least once in their life? 30% You now want to exclude 30% of the tourists from Europe from visiting the U.S. Do you know how ****ing stupid that is?

3. Marijuana is legal for medical use in 40 of 50 states, and legal in 24 states for recreational use. This specific person used Marijuana legally in the two countries he used them in.

4. There are some medications commonly prescribed in Europe that are not allowed to be legally sold in the U.S. You want to ban those people too, for taking legally prescribed medicine? Do you know how ****ing stupid that is? Do you know how stupid that sounds?
Yeah, stupid. But been how it's been for a long time. In other countries too!
What is wrong with you?
Nothing; thanks for concern though.
Why are you be justifying illegal wars when you cried and moaned and bitched about support for Ukraine?
Where the **** have I justified wars or bitched about Ukraine? You got me ****** up for someone else. I stay out of that bitchfest.
Why are you people justifying authoritarian behavior like this?

Why are you people allowing our administration to treat foreigners like shit?
I'm not 'you people', haven't cared for Trump for quite a time now; and I'm not running with some stupid reason as to why someone was refused because they said so.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!????????????????????????????????????
Again, nothing. Unless you count not eating and running with a story that fits an agenda but makes no sense.
Nothing you people are doing makes any sense anymore.
There's that you people thing again.

Memes mocking a person and sexual assault are comparable?
You dont understand that both would be dumb to do if you knew that it was illegal? That is kinda the point... you dont make fun of XI in front of a policeman or shout at a policeman in the US.. it is kinda stupid and will have a bad reaction.

Shouting at a policeman in the US is not illegal. It’s in fact protected by the constitution. As are memes mocking political leaders.

China is a dictatorship with no respect for rights.

That wasn't the real reason. That was the excuse:

"He told the Norwegian newspaper Nordlys that he was questioned at the airport about illegal drug use.

He admitted to having used cannabis on two occasions — in Germany and in New Mexico.

- It’s legal in both places, so in my mind it was irrelevant, he said."

WHAT ABSOLUTE HORSE SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOW CAN YOU PEOPLE SUPPORT SUCH BULLSHIT NONSENSE.

People are going to get sick and tired of this bullshit.

You and your fellow Trump supporters are not "conservatives." You are right-wing authoritarians who hate the Constitution. You hate the idea of America. You hate traditional American values. You hate freedom.

If you hate America so much I kindly ask you to consider North Korea or Russia. They seem like societies better suited for your extreme authoritarian politics.

I am sick of it.

I'm tired of it.

I don't want to live in your fascist MAGA hellhole.

This is not what the Framers intended.

Nothing about this is conservative. Nothing about this is compatible with traditional American values. It's just pure hate, bigotry, and fascism 24/7 and I want nothing to do with it.

This is NAZI sort of stuff. I want nothing to with it. And all of you Trump supporters who support this fascist bullshit should be ashamed of yourselves.
Calm down. Seriously.

Illegal drug use has made a person inadmissible for years. THis is not Trump's doing, and it's not an "excuse." It's the law.

See specifically, 8 USC 1182(a)(2):
(A) Conviction of certain crimes
(i) In general
Except as provided in clause (ii), any alien convicted of, or who admits having committed, or who admits committing acts which constitute the essential elements of—
(I) a crime involving moral turpitude (other than a purely political offense) or an attempt or conspiracy to commit such a crime, or
(II) a violation of (or a conspiracy or attempt to violate) any law or regulation of a State, the United States, or a foreign country relating to a controlled substance (as defined in section 802 of title 21),
is inadmissible.

Mikkelson admitted to using marijuana while in the United States. REgardless of what the thought he could do, and regardless of state laws on the issue, it remains unlawful under federal law. Therefore, Mikkelson (an alien) admitted to having committed a violation of a law of the United States relating to a controlled substance. He is inadmissible. Period. No amount of spittle foaming at the corners of your mouth wil change that.

I've been singled out twice in German customs and asked if I have anything to declare more than $800, which is standard and normal. French customs don't demand phone contents and a quick google search shows Brazil doesn't either. Australia can legally search tourist's cell contents, but only for visa, immigration purposes. It's only right wing authoritarian regimes that deny entry for saying something about their leaders.
Not sure why anyone is ok living in a country where visitors can be denied entry for unflattering pictures of their political leaders on their phones.
Since he freely admitted to acts that make him inadmissible, I don't see why I should think he was refused for an image of JD Vance.

Don't bother. A pot head said "yeah, I smoke a little weed" to the question of illegal drug use.

You don't admit that ever, ever, ever, ever. They ain't gonna know if you say no. Unless you're F'ed up at the moment.

They detained me and sent me back over a picture of a bald Vance!

They don't start getting into your phone until they have reason to believe it may contain info pertinent to the Q & A you are presently in.
Who have you been texting to see soon? Hotel reservations?

Nope, fake bald Vance pic got me sent back... run with it.

It’s cute that you buy that excuse.

Folks who aren’t on the far right find this ridiculous.

"Excuse?" Are you actually under the impression that a line CBP officer decided that he would usually admit this person who is clearly inadmissible by law but instead decided to refuse him based on an image on his phone?

I think you vastly overestimate the extent to which DOnald Trump influences day to day operations and determinations of admissibility by CBP.

Find it whatever you like, but the guy was clearly inadmissible for reasons that had nothing at all to do with a photoshopped image of JD Vance.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has ramped up its enforcement since President Donald Trump's return to office, now permitted to search through phones.

A French scientist was turned away at the U.S. border back in March for having text messages critical of Trump on his mobile. Mikkelsen recounted the incident: "They threatened me with a minimum fine of $5,000 or five years in prison if I refused to provide the password to my phone."

"Later I was taken back in, and the situation got even worse. I was pushed up against a wall and strip-searched with a lot of force. They were incredibly harsh and used physical force the whole time," he asserted. "I felt completely devastated and broke down, and was close to crying several times."

Hard to believe this is the USA.

Visa applications will include opening ALL social media accounts for scrutiny.

I find it hilarious that people will post what was for dinner on the forever net, or whatever(racist, misogyny, etc), and then bitch when someone digs it up. IE employer.

Don't put it out there. People talk, and can be hearsay. SM is forever and irrefutable.

Own yourself.

Can you explain that response in the morning when it's worn off a bit?

You want to lie for the right wing authoritarians who took his blood, threatened him, detained him for 5 hours, etc., and who then denied him entry because he had one pic of himself using a wooden pipe.

Only the far right thinks harassing and intimidating tourists for some supposed past weed use is lawful.

If he’d tried to kill the vice president instead, then maybe Trump would have pardoned him like the others.
