The overseers of the U.S. intelligence community have not embraced a CIA assessment that Russian cyber attacks were aimed at helping Republican President-elect Donald Trump win the 2016 election, three American officials said on Monday.

While the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) does not dispute the CIA's analysis of Russian hacking operations, it has not endorsed their assessment because of a lack of conclusive evidence that Moscow intended to boost Trump over Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, said the officials, who declined to be named.

That highlighted part is the meat of the story!

Certain powers that be are fully intent on attempting to de-legitimize this election and I consider that to be very wrong.
Trump has pissed off a few people and now they are playing "get back!"

The CIA is butt hurt. So are a few Senators with big egos! I think these CIA assertions are misrepresented, and the media in a feverish attempt to bash Trump is jumping on the "kick them in the gonads", bandwagon!

Ah yes, the CIA. Card-carrying liberals, all of them.

They have also not rejected it. They in fact admit that there was more than enough evidence to show some meddling by the Russians, but could not get behind the theory that it was done to promote Donald Trump over Clinton... it is this part that they cant get behind at the moment at least.

As usual the Trump right forgets to mention key aspects to promote their fascist ideas.

Eh, he may be the head of the Intelligence Community, but ever since Comey did what he did, and how hated the American political establishment is at this time, I don't see this doing much - if anything - to quell the obvious feeling of dissent descending upon our country right now. If anything, the ODNI saying this will serve only to further piss people off in the CIA.

Looks like we're already engaged in Civil War II to me.

ok.

So, like.

Our NSA was tapping the German PMs phone.

Spying. Everyone does it.

Liberals don't like their fiefdom exposed. They're all for whistle blowers until the whistle is pointed at them.

Factor in Team Trump's unprecedented and winning strategy. They had a message that resonated with disenfranchised voters. Trump's Brain Trust efficiently marshaled resources to win the electoral college. Donald explained to us he only lost the popular vote because of fraud. Donald joked during the campaign that Russia should hack into the DNC; he did not mean it. Donald told us he would not claim a rigged election or seek to dispute the results as long as he won. Now the Losers want to sow seeds of uncertainty. What an outrage! Do you smell sour grapes and much ado about nothing?

We're accusing Russia of tampering with our election.

Our evidence? They MAY have hacked the sec states email account, and then passed along what they found to wiki leaks.

Clearly they tampered with our election, and we should investigate this until we find proof of what we clearly already know.

The CIA is a Librul fiefdom????

Exactly! Only the naive would expect serious political contenders to play fair. They must only appear to play fair. Machiavelli explains this concept in depth in his book THE PRINCE - A man who wishes to make a profession of goodness will always come to grief among so many who are not good.... therefore, use this knowledge or not use it according to the necessity of the case.

Maybe the hackers made all those emails up, unless I missed any of the parties admitting that the emails were real.

We'll ignore, of course, the fact that had they been on a more secure server, they might not have been hacked in the first place. We'll also ignore the fact that Bill Clinton refused to admit, in a court of law, that he knew what the word IS means, with his wife right there with him the entire time. And last but not least, we'll ignore that Hillary has not denounced the authenticity of any of those emails.

Was the CIA spot on when it claimed Iraq had WMD's? What about it's torture program?

If all they did was expose the corruption of the DNC, something journalists and whistleblowers are supposed to do, but sure as **** weren't as in the tank as they were, then thanks Russia.

So who hear even heard of the overseers of 'intelligence'? Heard their annual reviews, hell can name the past directors?

I'd opine it is a figurehead 'agency'- usually bashed by the rabid right as a useless, redundant waste of taxpayer money- wouldn't have gotten a line anywhere in the news if it 'embraced' the CIA report. it is a BushII era agency that has pretty much gone backwater ever since.

Back during the election many on the rabid right embraced reports from FBI officials (who declined to be named) claiming Hillary would be indicted any day now all during the election.

Now more unnamed alleged to be making claims. I too think certain powers have attempted to de-legitimize this election- I look at the Roosians, not the DNC or a few big ego'd Senators... :peace

I have no idea what you are referencing in your reply to me and whether any of the parties admitted they were real...

...so I'll ignore it.

The DNC was the only one hacked.

HAHAHA! Realllly.....

And you know this because of .... magic?

If someone hacked the DNC, you don't think they also hacked the RNC? Do you think that the RNC is somehow better at Internet security?

The RNC was hacked, but the emails weren't released. The question you should be asking is what if anything were they used for? Why did so many Republicans behave so strangely? Why did certain Republicans unendorse Trump, and then reendorse him a day later?

A more secure server...... Because most organizations host their own mailservers... and have an IT department and userbase skilled enough to avoid breeches. Riiiiiighhht.

Unhackable email doesn't exist. Difficult to hack email is borderline impossible to use. And how many vulnerabilities like dirty cow exist? Essentially every email server on the planet was vulnerable to CVE–2016–5195 for 9 years.

Good Internet security keeps out the dumb hackers. If a smart hacker targets you, you're pretty much going down. And you don't need to be smart to hack email. It's pretty easy to find unsalted password hashes for users in domain, and then either crack or social engineer a hash.

'Russia' has been the DNC scapegoat since the content of the hacked emails was released. Video after video shows Clinton, Podesta, Brazille, Mook, and many others doing everything in their power since June to get people to not look at what was actually released. Even the WH press secretary has used the ploy on numerous occasions. The problem is they have speculation...no evidence. Ive yet to see the actual evidence of the actual hacking actually presented. We see a lot of 'we believe' or 'we think' or 'it could be that...'

But we are dramatically short on the actual evidence that DEMONSTRATES that it in fact WAS 'the Russians'.

So...why are so many already committed to 'the Russians'?

You are making definitive statements. Do you have some sort of proof the RNC was hacked?

While they did hack the DNC. they should have made sure that their server was corrected.
while you might be outraged at the hacking

you should be more outraged at the known evidence of election tampering by the DNC for Clinton.
where is the liberal outrage about that?

Ah yes, the CIA. Card-carrying liberals, all of them.

So it is your assertion that this "secret" CIA report that says Russians plotted for Trump to win 1) actually says that and 2) is endorsed by all CIA intelligence personnel?

Reports from the CIA don't need to be endorsed by their intelligence personnel, they just need to be manipulated by high ranking CIA officials. I mean, isn't that the very assertion used against Bush in the lead up to the Iraq war?

Since you made the accusation, I am sure you have something to back that up, right?

Again, the answer for this has been around since Wikileaks first started publishing Podesta's emails: Julian Assange wanted this expose to end Hillary's run for the White House because Assange feared that Hillary would make good on her threats against him and Wikileaks. The reason that the Democrats have cooked up this Russian hacking nonsense and ignored Assange's own explanation is because they want to push the narrative that Trump is a Russian collaborator rather than attack the real culprit directly, Julian Assange, and risk looking like they oppose free speech.

A question I have for those sudden super patriots out there is what if Deep Throat was a Russian spy, would you support Nixon?
