Well, we know reasons 4&5 are bullshit. Nothing about owning a gun makes anyone more responsible, and the fact that you have the right to is not a reason to own one.

So sorry that you live your life I fear.
I don't live my life in fear of hurricanes, yet I still make sure to have a few days water and canned food just in case a big storm disrupts water/power for a few days.

As a gun owner, #4 is not true. So many ****ing morons that own guns do not know how to properly use them, brandish them like wanna-be gunslingers, or they treat them like toys without any consideration that any gun is a deadly weapon.

Gun responsibility is a big thing in regards to properly exercising our 2A right, and is by far the most important thing, as not being responsible with your guns esssntially negates the rest.

Can you please show how owning a gun automatically makes you “become more responsible”?

If I own a car does it make me automatically a more responsible driver?

The primary reasons why I own firearms is because:
  • I hunt; and
  • I live in Alaska.
Alaska is one place where you are continually reminded that if not for our firearms, we would not be on top of the food chain.

I would have only one reason to own a gun. To kill a Russian or two if they invade Sweden. It is perhaps unlikely that they will but not impossible. The reasons that you list apply only to the increasingly deranged USA - imo.

Something “being your right” is not an argument for doing it, and considering the number of reports of children shooting themselves or others with their parents’ guns— or the gun owner themselves having a negligent discharge— the argument that owning a gun makes one “more responsible” is downright comical.

The rest is just plain ole fearmongering about crime.

6. all your crazy republican neighbors have one.

Universal statements are rarely true and impossible to prove.
Impossible to prove? WHU ??!! On average, 390,000 guns are stolen each year. That's a gun stolen less than every 90 seconds! Those guns are now in the hands of criminals who commit crimes with them, including everything from theft and rape, to murdering police officers. Were those gun owners MORE RESPONSIBLE ??!!?? So far this year alone, more than 200 CHILDREN have died from GUN ACCIDENTS! Were those gun owners MORE RESPONSIBLE ??!!??

Reason #4 is unmitigated bullshit.
Your opinion.
No. Even the suggestion that the fact you having a right to something is a reason to partake of it is just more horseshit. In fact, nothing more than referencing the same data above can be a compelling reason NOT to own a gun! I wonder how many parents of dead children questioned what their reason for having one was after the loss of their child.

There may be plenty of good reasons that some people, in some circumstance, might want to own a gun. But the fact that you can isn't one of them, and the idea that if makes anyone more responsible is just a steaming pile. 💩

You have the right to get married to a person of the same sex.

Better get started.
It's a reason to own one. It's not a requirement.

I'm not going to go out and do something to get my Miranda rights read to me just because, either.

No. 6. It often helps reduce the number of very bad individuals in this violent nation.

Can we make, I'm scared and a firearm makes me feel better number one instead of slow police response?

keep backing up.

Why should you fear hurricanes? I don't and I've lived in flori-duh for over thirty years. Afer all if one starts to get to close, we just nuke them.

Kyle Rittenhouse, he became so responsible he went out of state to protect some property of people he didn't even know and in my opinion became a murderer in the process. Everything he did that night was illegal but the republicans let him walk and then made him a celebrity. Disgusting.
