incident that claimed the life of Tony Stewart Racing TQ Midget driver Ashlea Albertson.

Albertson, 24, was a passenger in a GMC Terrain Friday about 11:30 a.m. on I-65 in Jackson County just south of Seymour, Indiana, when a man driving a Malibu pulled alongside the Terrain. Authorities say video recorded by a person in another vehicle in the area shows both drivers began driving faster, refusing to let each other pass. When the driver of the Malibu changed lanes into the Terrain’s path, the SUV driver lost control of his vehicle, causing the two to collide, according to ISP.

Albertson was ejected from the Terrian when it rolled over. The Malibu left the interstate and stopped in a field.

Albertson was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital where the Greenfield, Indiana, resident died. The two drivers and a juvenile passenger in the Malibu were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Both drivers were given blood tests. The toxicology results are pending..."

There's a lot of that road rage out where I live in Phoenix, AZ. People are so unforgiving these days.

I was driving to an intersection and pulled into the right lane to take the turnoff. A silver late 60s or early 70s Mercedes two seat coupe cut me off and I was inches from rear ending it hard. I had installed drilled slotted rotors and ceramic pads in my Accord EX V6 and they saved me. If I'd rear ended that Merc it would have have been my fault. That coupe was so rare I had no idea what model Benz it was, but worth 6 figures easy.

The next day I took the same turnoff and the Benz was coming the other way with its left blinker on. Traffic was heavy and I stopped and flashed my lights for him to go. He looked at me and in a second he recognized me. He knew exactly who I was. I flashed my lights again and he kept looking at me for a bit before he made his left. I smiled and waved as he went by.

That's how you do it.

Road rage reflect the competitive nature of the human spirit mixed in with the desire for acknowledgement and validation. Both sides ask: Do you KNOW who you're messing with?

Driving is a lot like dancing and dancing is a lot like sex, so if you road rage a lot, it means you don't dance very well and if you can't dance very well, you probably don't **** very well either.
Mind you, for the purpose of this subject I define "dancing well" as dancing smoothly and gracefully to a decent rhythm....you don't have to have the most exciting moves, just smooth and graceful ones.

Dancing is the verticle expression of a horizontal desire.

One of my wiser friends told me that frustration caused from the stupid actions of others on the road are due to our disappointment in thinking that everyone is going drive perfectly and then they don't. We leave our homes thinking that our drive to wherever we are going is going to be perfect and uneventful, then someone bursts that bubble.

I used to have anger at stupid reckless drivers, now I just have disappointment. I have also acknowledged that I've made stupid moves in traffic as well so I can't be hypocritical.

Sad that this incident escalated to such a tragic point.

I used to rage a bit from time to time...back forty years ago when I was a dumb punk kid!
I am far from perfect and yes I admit to losing my cool on rare occasions but nothing like what you see on YouTube or Twitter.
I enjoy driving very much, I enjoy driving as much as some people enjoy playing sports, and I take great pride in doing it rather well.

So yes, marginal drivers irritate the hell out of me but the way I see it, I won't be making anything better by contributing my share of stupidity so at the most, I just curse them out, either to myself or for the benefit of others in the car if they find it entertaining.

Same. I can't tell you how many times I yell f***ing idiot inside my car, but then I just move on.

You don't rage. You aim to embarrass the person publically.

I was driving when a mama duck and her ducklings were crossing the road. I stopped to let them pass. The driver in the lane beside me ran over the mama duck leaving the ducklings there. Another driver tended to the ducklings while I followed the one that ran mama over. I followed her to her home and made sure the entire neighborhood knew what happened. I then looked up the name of the person via address lookup services, took the dash cam video, made copies (USB, dvds, etc...) and left copies of the video inside every single neighbor's mailbox within the block. If you want to run over a mama duck and just keep driving, you better not do it in front of me.

I just had a minor epiphany, namely that if I were to just buy myself a Triump Insult Dog bobblehead and put it on my dashboard I probably would never get mad at another driver ever again.
I would let Triumph do my talking for me!

OMG I guess it is possible to custom make a Triumph bobblehead for 75 bucks!
VERY tempting.

Well done, sir.

Sadly this "I am da wo/man" attitude usually ends up in tragedy. Was it worth it? Why not just let it go? Who won, and what?

It would be even better if he cursed at other drivers while they did stupid things.

I'm serious, I think I might just waste seventy five bucks on a Triumph Insult Dog bobblehead.
Smigel should offer merch! I am surprised he isn't.

At the very least it would be awesome to have a mini Triumph mascot that you can slip over the back of a pen like the little rubber troll dolls.

Poor woman. Bad company will get you killed every time.

Damn. Racing drivers are usually smart enough to wear belts in a car. I hope that alcohol or drugs weren't involved. RIP Ashlea.

I know that road because my sister lives in Bloomington and I usually get off at the Columbus interchange one or two interchanges before Seymour.

Yes, but looking at the picture of the crash, a seat belt might not have saved her when her beau decided to get into a pissing contest with some random jerk on the road and got their GMC Terrain overturned.

The roof isnt completely collapsed, so it might have been surviveable, if the windshild or side windows werent penetrated by something. Road rage is so stupid. I drive small cars and I am about half afraiod of the angry idiots who drive jacked-up bro-dozers.

Todd Albertson, Ashlea's father, made a video hours after her death. I stopped @1:15 ... heartfelt, courageous

If she was belted in and stayed in the vehicle she might have survived. Unfortunately she was ejected when it rolled, possibly over her.
