Tommy Tuberville Wants Joe Biden Inauguration Delayed Until COVID 'Behind Us'

I can see where that quote could be interpreted as that (if you squint your eyes and turn your head sideways). If you look at the context of what he said, he was clearly talking about the public ceremony, not Biden taking office.
From your follow up post I can see where “done an” makes the statement sufficiently vague that either interpretation could work. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Aside from competent planning--the introduction of components to what will become a comprehensive plan, not ad hoc reactions largely devoid of strategy or proactive element--and effective implementation of plans, the highest-impact difference might be a credible vaccine rollout plan. The current Administration either had no plan or implemented it extremely badly. That it promised "reserve" vaccine supplies were going to be provided to the states when no such reserve existed is one example.

Biden will unveil the specifics of that plan today. It could involve invoking the Defense Production Act to dramatically scale up vaccine production, among other things.

This post came up again for me. Don't know why...

It seems to me that the folks producing the vaccine are doing a pretty dramatic ramp up right now.

I heard there would be 20 million available for distribution in the US by the end of 2020. They missed that by about a million. The manufacturer complained of ingredient shortages from Chinese suppliers.

Then January was to have another 30 million distributed. February was promised to provide another 50 million.

Assuming the same upswing in production ALREADY PLANNED, hitting the "100 million in the first 100 days" mark would happen with or without any implementation of the Defense Production Act.

Simply re-packaging that which is already occurring seems like waving a shiny object to distract the baby.

I fear that this is what we are in for as Biden tries to appease the far left (Bernie bros?) in order to get even sufficient demorat support for more federal borrow and spend policies.

The idea that 100M vaccinations in 100 days is going to git-r-done is ridiculous. At that rate (1M shots/day) it would take nearly a year to get everyone a single vaccination shot, and twice that long if two vaccination shots are required to establish COVID-19 protection.

We simply can’t remain in this ‘non-essential’ worker time out mode out for another 6 months or so as we slowly approach ‘herd immunity’.
When I ask my band’s keyboard player to learn a particularly tricky keyboard part she hems and haws about and then learns and plays it perfectly. When I called her in it once her only comment was “under promise, over deliver”.

Since we’re near a million a day already I’m hoping that’s what Biden’s approach here is. It would fit in his his theme of not blowing smoke up our collective butts.

I voted for Biden knowing that there was a chance he’d have to do things he might not otherwise to appease the far left. One of the reasons I hoped the Senate would stay Republican but our President managed to screw that up too.

So, the guy who is the mascot for the dumbasses that denied COVID is even serious now wants to delay the inauguration because of COVID. Yep. He's a typical dumbass Trumper alright.

He's very flexible. Must be yoga, expert level.

You know it's bad when CNN has to walk itself back. Looks like a lot of people owe Senator Tuberville an apology.

The worst thing possible for Biden to do, after winning as a ‘moderate’, is to try to start governing as a ‘lefty’. That would help assure losing the slim majority which demorats now enjoy in the House and the Senate in 2022. Basically a repeat of what happened to Obama.

IMHO, people are looking at this Covid thing all wrong. It is going to change how we live for many more years. Most, seem to think vaccinations will be completed by summer and then we will go back to living as we did.. Zero chance of this.

We don't even have a vaccine for 25% of the country! Now you have the ignorant ass holes which could be as much as 35% of the eligible refusing it.
Hence, we are not going to eradicate this any time soon. Furthering the problem, new strains are already in circulation that this vaccine only partially protects again and it is pretty much a certainty that as other strains develop they will more full "escape" and make the vaccine useless.

Sorry folks, this is a brave new world. Life as we knew it is over.

And more entirely new pathogens are out there waiting to make the leap to humans. As Bill Gates warned the risk is a pathogen as contagious as measles and as deadly as Ebola.

lol - the full quote makes it very specific. Again, look at the context. The other statements - where he was talking about Trump being out in the next 7 days and Biden being president. The fact that those on the left thought that a suggestion that Biden not take office was 'so ridiculous' - yet the reporter didn't ask a follow-up question on it. His intent was clear even with the misquote. That's why it's so important to be able to evaluate the source material. A snippet taken out of context with commentary can change the impression of what was said to whatever the article wants.

How do people like that genius get elected? More to the point, who on earth would be dumb enough to elect him to public office?
I do not think so. I mean no disrespect to anybody but these populist accusation spewers have influenced loose cannons everywhere. I personally think they are dangerous.

I agree. The right talks a good game on freedom too. Meanwhile you can still be charged a felony for a dab pen in most red states.

{attempts to deflect}
From the original 'article' -- before they corrected the quote. If anything, that only highlights CNN's bias on what was more commentary than a news article. Even Rachael Maddow's section of MSNBC walked the statements back.

In that (bolded above) case then so is having a demorat as the next POTUS. Remember that Biden’s #1 priority is “fighting” COVID-19.

How is it a “deflection?” The topic concerns Tuberville’s familiarity with the Constitution. You bringing another source when the first doesn’t make your point is called what?

Perhaps Tommy should practice saying "President Pelosi" since that's what would happen January 20th if Biden wasn't sworn in.
It seems that we have Vikings that can depose her pretty quick

That does not surprise me at all. ;)

I'd like you to support your contention not just run.

If Good Ole' Joe handle Covid well America will know it.
If he denies it, mismanages it, lies about it, then I would agree with you.
The American people are going to have to face the facts, life as we knew it will be altered for a very long time.

It was not Covid that took don't Trump, it was HOW he handled it.

You know, right now, we are seeing deaths at an annual rate of over 1 million.
And still people are not making.
This is on Donny.

The topic was in the article in the OP, and it's stupid. Bringing in a quote about something different to try to save face is called deflection.

Wait? You can see my face?
