I heard you had to be at least 6 feet tall to join the Coast Guard, so if the boat ever sinks you can wade back to shore. =)

Just a rumor. Not true. They take midgets, too, just like the Navy. ;) (When I was in the Coast Guard Reserve, I drilled with the Navy. Easiest duty I had. Sit around in the electronics shop playing video games. When we went to GQ, my station was in an electronics room below a 5" mount. I'd put my sound-powered phones on and read Playboys someone had stashed in the room while I heard an occasional "pop" as Marines invaded Camp Pendleton. It was great. Got a free ride to the Expo in Canada one year. I couldn't believe I got paid by the government to go on vacation. :lol:)
