Singer Nezza has claimed the Dodgers tried to stop her singing the national anthem in Spanish before their game in LA on Saturday night as a show of solidarity with ICE protestors in the city.

In a tearful post on TikTok, she said she felt the tribute was poignant on the day of 'No Kings' protests across the United States over Donald Trump's immigration policies. And after days of unrest in Los Angeles itself, the singer said she was stunned that the organization told her to perform the anthem in English.

In a separate video, she shared a clip of what she says was a Dodgers official, from off-camera, telling her she was required to sing the anthem in English.

First you make up a form of oppression.

The Dodgers are oppressive because they asked her to sing the National Anthem at a Dodger game but want it sung in.... get this..... I know it's super offensive to presume such a thing... but hey wanted it sung in..... English.

Watch the Dodgers tell me I can't sing the Spanish Star-Spangled Banner that Roosevelt literally commissioned in 1945,' she captioned the post. 'So I did it anyway,' she added as an extra comment when the video eventually shows her singing on the field.

How dare the Dodgers presume any sort of agency or even preference about matters involving their game at their field and I'm there at their request.

I need to make it all about me of course.

'I didn't think I'd be met with any sort of no, especially because we are in LA' Nezza - real name Vanessa Hernandez - said on her TikTok in a post late on Saturday night. 'I just felt like I needed to do it. I'm still very shaken up and emotional.

'Especially because we're in L.A., and with everything happening. I've sang the national anthem many times in my life, but today, out of all days, I could not. I'm sorry.

'I could not believe when she walked in and told me no. But I just felt I needed to do it. For anyone who has been following me for a while, you will know everything I do is out of love, good energy.

You didn't think that the people who gave you an opportunity and a preference for that opportunity should have any sort of say. You think that whatever feeling and external variables you can imagine in your mind override what they explicitly expressed to you.

'Anyways, sorry, this is a whole different side of me. Thank you for all the sweet messages. I love you guys so much. Safe to say I am never allowed in that stadium again.'

The Dodgers have been contacted for comment. According to The Athletic, she was not punished for ignoring the team request and is not banned from Dodger Stadium in the future.

So anyway...... I did this for victims and now of course, I'm a victim. In making it all about me, I've now become the victim which now makes it double all about me.

Oh the fact that all the evil and mean oppressors didn't actually do anything evil and mean beyond stating their expectations and desires, well don't are believe that. I'm fully justified in what I did because of their REACTION which of course I can't actually prove but I'll gladly allege.

So there is the playbook clear as day.

1. An organization gives an opportunity with their preferences and guidelines.
2. You take that opportunity and make it all about you and your advocacy.
3. You engage in a pointless gesture that really doesn't change anything for anyone.
4. You use the fact that you ignored their preferences and guidelines to brand yourself the victim.
5. You double down by alleging some sort of retribution related to the fact they gave you an opportunity and had preferences.
6. You go forward having changed nothing but can now wear a golden victim crown on your head.

This is a literal synopsis for everything that happened yesterday on Flag Day with the No Kings protests.

The country voted for a President.
The "victims" call their election loss of the presidency a monarchy.
They rally against the monarchy vowing to make a difference.
They make no difference because we don't have a king.
They use the fact this is point out to them as proof they are being retaliated against and victimized.
They go forward with their golden victim crown feeling good about changing and doing nothing.

You're welcome.

What you really mean is it is super offensive to sing the national anthem in Spanish. Just be honest for a change.

^ Hundreds of words in this post and not one of them sensible.

That assumes there is one vision of what the country and its values are, which there's always been division over. Nowadays that rift has gotten much larger than in the past, but recall the other major shifts in culture and politics, like the civil rights movement where one part of the country wanted to maintain its racist ways and the other didn't. This is somewhat similar in that the MAGA vision isn't the one that's shared by everyone, so there are protests etc.

It's over 6 months since Trump demolished the Democrats who ran a pathetic and shambled campaign and people still don't understand THAT'S ON THE DEMS.

And it's staggering how many people can't seem to understand that you can be left-wing and still hate the democratic party.

It sucks that Trump was elected again but the Democrats are absolute trash and that's exactly why Trump is president again.

Very confusing.

Somebody is lying. The Dodgers can't be having a home game. LA has been burned down by the Marxists. Can't be true.

TikTok is still here. It didn't burn down.

What language did your ancestors speak?

When I left Chicago in 1978, there were many Italian families that spoke Italian in the home. Freedom of speech guarantees this. If you don't want to be American, revoke free speech.

Here's some English for ya.

Amazing girl. What language do you think her "ancestors" speak?

I learned German by listening to my maternal grandmother speak to my mom. Gma didn't speak English at home.

My aunt's husband's family was German. The men would play cards, drink Scotch and speak German at gatherings. "Uncle" Hank gave me my first sip of Scotch. He said I wouldn't like it. I'd have to develop a taste for it. He was wrong. Lol.

I wasn't trying to learn German but was looking out for my own safety because as soon as Gma said "Ach Du Lieber gott en Himmel", you immediately made yourself very scarce because something was going to come flying your way, usually an ashtray. Gma was an angry woman with a very short fuse.

Thank the gods tiktok is here to save us.

When is it getting banned or are we over that?
That's old hat because one of it's major investors convinced Donnie Boy to not enforce the ban Congress passed and which he first promoted.

Diapers DonOld had a baaaad weekend... A failed birthday parade
.. But big turnouts at No kings protests...ME is about ready to explode, and Ukraine war is no where near over.. So the ahem 'Peace' President's Nobel is out the window...

So expect Dozens of deflection threads this week from the Trumpsters here..

There isn't a language called American. There isn't an official language at all in the US.
Put aside everyone who has German, French, Italian, Irish, Greek, Polish, whatever ancestry. Do you reckon the Americans with English ancestry outnumber the Americans with Spanish ancestry?
Spanish is just as legitimate in much of the US as English. More, some places.
Anyway, why should Americans have any loyalty to anything English?
