Why's it embarrassing? ___ # of people will be voting Republican - just like it was a give that at least ___ # of people were going to vote Democrat in the last election.

They basicly just did the poll based on partisan-preference. Of course, in the coming election it's a gimme that Obama will be the Democrat running. The results would likely have been the same if it said "Democrat or Republican"
It's really kind of silly to actually do a poll before candidates have even stepped to the plate.

But it's never the partisan faithfuls who win elections - it's usually the independents and partisan-impartial.
 
Yeah these polls are meaningless for predicting purposes.

However, they do send a warning to the Obama people, not that they weren't aware already.

I'd bet that any President in his situation would not be doing great (because of the economy).
 
So, essentially, Obama is tied with each voter's ideal Republican candidate? And that's bad news for Obama?
