By and large, trump's lies and incompetency have been "normalized" to the point there's no standard set for him.

The same is not true for his Democratic opponents, who are held to a higher bar - not just by voters but also by msm and commentators.

He did okay, IMO. He and his campaign/press staff should challenge Trump to do the same: a 90-minute Q&A with reporters. He can choose the reporters if he wants.

No, he's not. He made slips by mixing up names - something we've all done and will do in the future.

But he doesn't pander to dictators, doesn't embarrass the USA by swooning over Xi, supports the independence of Ukraine against Russia's attempts to take over that country, promotes NATO (trump could and possibly would try to destroy it), has gotten legislation passed by Congress (trump, despite that trifecta, couldn't lead his own party to do anything but pass huuuuuuuuuuuge and permanent tax cuts for the uber-rich), and he hasn't done atrocious things like kidnap babies and children from their parents, spirit them off to god-knows-where in the country, AND refused to keep records of which children belong to which parents.

Done with MSM in all its forms since The NY Times made their Juvenile effort to sabotage Joe Biden via a single IDIOT reporter and a page editor.

Now entirely done with all of them....no matter the News Channel or the Newspaper. News Media in this country has entirely lost its way. Does not understand its function. Is officiallly GARBAGE now.

That media has not found a way to report on Trump's endless lies and outrageous drive to dictatorship effectively IS ON THE MEDIA.

Trump rarely gets things right. But he is right that media NEEDS the chaos he brings. They feed off it. They love it. Many of them appear to assert by their very actions that they would not have jobs without it.
 
The bar was so low for Biden so it was highly unlikely he would have been able to slither under it.

But when he looses his train of thought he bails with a stare.....

When you’re the dung in the dung heap matchup with Trump, you’ve got nowhere else to go except up. After multiple shots of B12 and rehearsal after rehearsal he did better than his previous shit show performance.

Trump would go off-topic, would lie his obese ass off, would play the victim, would threaten to use the powers of the Oval Office against anyone he feels slighted by, would swoon over Xi and choose putin's word over that of our own intel and security agencies - AND make stupid and obsessive remarks about airports, sharks, batteries, ingesting bleach, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and god knows who else - but all of this would be accepted by his MAGA cult, most of the msm, pundits and commentators, and even us as normal, as "trump being trump".

Agree 100%. This is what I don't get -- Biden could do this. They could flip the script, and they could say, okay, we did an interview for 90 damn minutes, what about you, fat guy? Hell, issue the challenge to the press - tell them to cover him the same way. Show some fight. Go on the offensive. For whatever reason, they just can't seem to.
