Just wanted to hear some comments about Kasich and his massive overhauls including the hot topic of SB:5.

SB5 is gonna go up in flames in november...kasich is a douchebag...'nuff said

Doing some reading I really don't see anything wrong with the bill. It gets rid of step-increase pay raises on the basis of senority and replaces it with merit based increases....that's how it SHOULD be. If 92% of the population can handle 23% of their benefits, then why can't the other 8% increase their contributions a bit? This is so far away from being an "attack" on anybody.

That said, I have no problem with the bill based on what I've found. As for Kasich, I don't know much about him. Reading some of his quotes, it seems like he tries to answer two questions at once, sometimes confusing the issue.

Let's get a few things straight, first off that thing is being put on the ballot with 1.3 million signatures getting it there (of the 250k needed). Second of all I am sorry you live in Ohio. I lived in Ohio for 12 years, and it is a shame that the United States looks to Ohio as a determining factor as to how elections and our nation is turning. Especially because 9 out of 10 Ohioans are stuck up assholes or they are just in general unsavory people. I hate that place with a passion. Hey it is a great place to visit, you got Cedar Point, Kings Island, COSI, lots of zoos, museums, etc but the people are like the stereotypes black comedians have of white people and did I mention I really hate that place? Also no it isn't because it's ran by two of the biggest Republican cocks in politics right now, because the third biggest is from my state. It wouldn't matter if that place was ran by a bunch of dems or republicans it sucks. A lot. So bad. That's my opinion on that law and your whole God forsaken state.

Kasich, Walker, Snyder, they all do not care how unpopular they are or if they cannot get reelected. Their corporate masters will take good care of them when the people send them packing as payment for elevating the playing field in their favor.

As a Tri-State resident and someone who campaigned for Gov. Kasich, he has been doing a fine job, though SB-5 was an overreach. Compare it to similar legislation passed under Scott Walker's leadership in Wisconsin and you'll see why. Kasich made a strategic blunder by not excluding police or firefighters from the reforms, practically handing union lobbyists a golden PR opportunity. It's back to the drawing board now. John Kasich will continue, however, to help clean up the mess he inherited. Hopefully he'll learn from this hiccup and be better prepared for the kind of bile the special interests throw at someone who threatens their coveted taxpayer-feathered nest. If he has any doubts about their determination to retain their little little spheres of power, he has only to look at Wisconsin right now to see the lengths to which they'll go to cling to their ill-gotten gains.

I wish Gov. Kasich and all Ohioans the best. May wisdom and common sense prevail over the character assassination and demonization his administration is currently facing.

Last I saw Kasichs favorables in Ohio were in the toilet...and thats not just the public workers her tried to shaft.
Walker in Wisc is by far not out of the woods...Neither is Rick Scott who has favorables in the lows 30s....
kasich walked in the door with his chest all puffed out throwing around threats....I will share a few statements that I heard him say myself on Foxnews.
I dont care if what I do is popular...Im going to do it.
If you dont get on my bus, your going to get run over.
I dont care if I get re elected

As soon as democrats and republicans alike rebuked his tough talk...I heard him say right after his awful spanking...
Ok Ok Ohio...I got it...I hear you...you didnt like my ideas and I over reached......talk about eating humble pie.
Can he recover...sure, Kasich is a smart guy and Ive always like him personally...till he tried his gestapo moves in Ohio thinking he was going to get alot of attention Like Scott Walker and Christie....didnt work out so well for him

kasich is a joke, and i can't wait to vote his sorry ass out.

The unionistas hate Kasich because he tells the truth about them-especially the parasitic public sector scumbags who run groups like AFSCME and the NEA and the criminal-infested SEIU.

Nope sorry turtle totally incorrect statement...most of the citizens of ohio voted against Kasich...if was just the unions voting against him his crusade to bone public workers would have passed hands down, it FAILED by a landslide.
Public Sector scumbags ? and you wonder why people take shots at you regularly....you just labeled millions of people that get up and go to work everyday and provide a service in many instances you cant and couldnt.. scumbags and parasites..because you dont like they have a voice in their destiny.
Turtle, sorry man people that think like you and talk down to the working class like you are the reason Im not going to be a republican after I vote against any far right teaparty type nutjobs.
It used to be privledged people like you.loved talking down to people that didnt work...now its elevated to people that DO work..whats next escalation to scumbag status if you dont make what at least a million a year

Hmm yes I did...that changes the perspective a bit...but I still disagree that they are scumbags...they are doing what they were voted to do...

i dont understand why every freeway
in and around columbus
is always under construction.
ENOUGH ALREADY !!!
gov kasich needs to think of
a less annoying way
to spend ohios stimulus money.

:lamoTell you what -- call ahead next time so everyone can put couches out on their porches and not mow their lawns, so you'll feel more at home.

I guess I have to ask the same question about Ohio as I did about Wisconsin. What was the state of the State BEFORE Kasich was elected, and what is it now? What was its future and what now is its future financially, economically, employment wise, etc?

You have to view Ohio in segments. The north of the state (Cleveland area) has pretty much been a basket case. While other areas like Columbus have fared a little better. The Columbus area embraced the concept of regionalism and has sought to work cooperatively to improve the lot of all. The Cleveland area is still stuck in 1950s Chicago style politics. The suburbs fighting each other and Cleveland over employers. Everyone fighting everyone else. Throw in massively corrupt county govt and you have an absolute mess. Of course currently there is a lot going on, casinos getting built, a long awaited medical mart may actually happen. Unfortunately as a lifetime citizen I have absolutely no doubt that local govt will eventually screw it up.

Ohio is not a right to work state so we are currently still sending what's left of our manufacturing base to neighboring states. If you are not a rabid union facility stay away from Cleveland. As far as Kasich is concerned I can't say much. Being in Cleveland you get blinded by the constant idiocy surrounding the area.

Sucks.... Though, I feel like some cuts DID need to be made, and it wasn't a bad decision to cut all that he did. It will cost him, though. You can't cut a state's strongest industries, healthcare and education - really, some of the few strong industries we have left - during a time of high unemployment like this. Our state government is also a huge employer. You make state cuts, jobs are going to be cut. I do admire the work he has done against welfare fraud. THAT is an area where cuts are good.
