This is why we need gun control

The idea that laws have to be perfect is hilarious
So laws to cover the incident in the OP already exist. Since you’re here to carry his water for him, what is it he wants if there is already gun control?

I'd guess there are already laws covering this kind of thing.

Probably.
But I wonder if the guy had to take a training course, get a license, or register the firearm? I think those things can all make it so a person respects the process a little more, and may think a little bit more about safe handling and storage. As it is when there is a "right" to firearms, people just have no respect at all for the responsibility of gun ownership.

I work with Trump fans that are always bragging about taking their kids to the gun range and deer hunting. All of them were 10 years old and younger.
This is not analogous to that.

Can we make other laws to REDUCE it from happening?

Oh wait.....they must be perfect!!!!! Lol

What laws do you suggest would accomplish that?
I guarantee you none will meet your criteria of perfection. That's what you asked for. Lol

This is everything that's wrong with the gun nuts in one video.

That's a toddler, in a diaper, with a loaded pistol

Indiana doesn’t have any law requiring safe storage in homes to protect against the potential tragedy that occurred in this case.

IMO, as a firearms owner/2A supporter, Indiana is dead wrong on this one. Every state should have safe storage laws.

No excuse.

I think 10 is far too young to be hunting with a firearm. I can see maybe taking a .22 single shot LR and shooting some targets or something in a safe spot.
But I would never put a firearm into my kids hands at that age, and I wouldn't really encourage it at any age.

What you take into your hands....you take into your heart.

Agree.
They could probably use a child endangerment angle. But there should at the least be safety course and safe storage laws.

Take the idiots guns away and make sure he cant legally possess them again.

"I'm against all gun control."

Also:

"What gun laws would've stopped this?! I'm all ears."

So…nothing? Okay, that’s pretty much par for the course.
There is no law on the planet that achieves perfection

Want to admit that's a stupid standard?

Gun control already exists. You want gun banning. Sucks for you.

What “gun control” are you proposing that would have 100% prevented this from happening?
Require that all guns in a residence with children be locked up .................... or else parents can be held accountable.

How do you go from:

"This person did something stupid and dangerous."

to

"All of the people who didn't do something stupid and dangerous must now have their rights infringed."

You have to use special “gun control” advocacy ‘logic’ (reasoning?).

The criminal abuse (or negligent storage) of X causes “X crime” (or “X injuries or deaths) and greatly restricting “access to” (or banning the sale of) X is the best solution to reduce “X injuries or deaths”, but only when X is a gun.

Of course, when X is a knife or baseball bat then this ‘logic’ (reasoning?) doesn’t apply in any way, because that same ‘logic‘ (reasoning?) then becomes ‘illogical’ (unreasonable?).

"He reached in the waistband ... of his Pampers. I feared for my life."

Did you miss the part of the OP link Tweet stating that the father was arrested?

No law “100%” guarantees anything.

If there was a safe storage law in IN, the chances of something like this would be lessened, and if the child did still manage to get his hands on the gun, the adult owner of the firearm would face criminal charges and hopefully be prohibited from ever again owning any firearm.

I'm not as quick of a draw when I have to retrieve my gun from storage, gun grabber.

"When seconds count, the police are minutes away my gun is in storage."

When all of them get in a heated argument then shoot each other in the process ........ hmmmmmmmm something to be proud of.

They will all be in fear for their lives and under possible attack, so they would all be justified in opening fire.
That may sound hilarious, but thats EXACTLY how our gun laws here in the US are written. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Permanently. As far as I’m concerned, a ****up of this magnitude is a “one and done”.
