This Is How We Know The NRA Is Full Of Sh*t

That is left wing projection.
Really? How do you explain pushing a law that would fine pediatricians and take their licenses for speaking to their patients about guns in the house?

I didn't post it.

I wondered where it came from.
I spent less than 30 seconds of my time and found out.

You didn't post it

You wondered where it came from.
You were too _[fill in the blank]_ to bother to find out for yourself.
I guess that we have different ideas on how problems are solved -

[1] Do a bit of work and solve the problem.
and
[2] Wait until someone hands you the solution on a silver platter.

One of those methods is faster and surer than the other. I wonder which one it is. Do you know?
Good for you? I guess?

Sounds like a good idea. Pediatricians are doctors and should mind their own business about what is in patients houses. They should not bring up the subject of guns unless their patient comes in with a gun shot wound.

It’s a free country, as they say. The courts recognized that, striking down that ridiculous law overwhelmingly. It’s absurd to fine a doctor $10k for mentioning that. You should listen to docs that have had to tell families who bring in a kid with a gun shot wound that the kid didn’t survive. The NRA wants to sell guns, fine. How about them minding their own business.

Which part of "unless a patient comes in with a gun shot would" did you not understand? Fine or no fine, it's not wise or responsible or appropriate for a doctor to bring up or ask: "Do your parents have guns in the house?" It's a fascist form of conversation for a doctor to have with a child patient.

That's why many gun owners see doctors who are gun owners. this thread proves a point-the NRA is hated because they muster votes against the authoritarian left

What would the doctor do with this information?

What would the doctor do with this information?
Who said they would "do" anything? Are you against Doctors discussing poison control or vaccines or depression symptoms or any other thing related to the health of a child?

Yep. What drives the left completely up the wall is that the NRA represents millions of law abiding citizens who support the second amendment. And those citizens vote. The left never learns. When the democrats lost control of both houses of congress in the 1994 midterms it was over two factors, one, the hildabeast(Hillary) attempting to pass universal healthcare in one fell swoop, and two, the Brady Bill. Bill Clinton even admitted the latter.

So much for freedom of speech.
You lot just dont care how you sound, do you, not when your favourite sacred cow is being driven down the street.

Who said they would "do" anything? Are you against Doctors discussing poison control or vaccines or depression symptoms or any other thing related to the health of a child?
Those issues are common health issues. Interrogating a child about parents having guns in the house is not a medical issue and it's fascist of doctors to ask, unless the patient comes in with a gun shot wound.

If they have no use for it, why are they collecting it?

Freedom of speech has some common sense limitations. Fir instance, you cannot walk into a crowded theatre and yell: "Fire!" unless there is one. How would you feel if the doctor asked the child what brand of feminine hygeine products his or her mommy used? Some forms of questioning a child are inappropriate.

Who said anything about interrogating? Your hyperbolic ranting is not the way to prove a point. If a doctor gives a patient a handout about poisons or gun safety, is that interrogating?

And nice attempt to try to turn the conversation into medical issues and away from health issues. Didn't work though.

Who said anything about collecting info? Do doctors "collect" info when they speak to their patients about drownings or poison or mental health?

Bullshit. You advocate fining a doctor who speaks about guns in a parents house, maybe taking his license away, for no other reason than the word guns makes your knee jerk and gets your adrenaline level up a notch.

Do they forget the answer once they hear it?

Why are they asking? Idle curiosity?

Why do they feel the need?
None of your business.
The same principle applies to gun ownership, right? "Why do you feel you need a gun?" "None of your damn business."

The paranoia oozing from the gun supporters in this thread is mind-boggling.

Use common sense. Why do you think a pediatrician would ask if a family uses four-wheelers or has a pool or pond or a trampoline? Then apply that same common sense to a question about guns.

The Democratic lawmakers who opposed the Republican lawmakers' actions wanted doctors to have the ability to ask about guns in the home. That makes it a public policy issue, which is everyone's business. Why do the Democrats want doctors to collect information on guns in the homes of their patients?

Please quote the portion of the law that states that Doctors would be obligated to collect and report gun info obtained from their patients.

I doubt its for any nefarious purpose on the part if the doctors. The Democratic lawmakers I'm not so sure about.

When doctors get a positive response to pools and trampolines, what do they do? I've never been asked this, so my experience is lacking, and we do have a trampoline.
