Allowing legal, permanent residences to vote in municipal elections makes perfect sense. Municipalities are about local issues affecting all residents. I especially feel strongly that local tax-paying residents have a say in how their local tax dollars are spent. I dont hold the same view of Provincial/ State or Federal elections which impact national security, foreign policy and the like. Those issues belong in the hands of citizens......schools and garbage collection not so much.
