'They're trying To Scare Us Away': Texas Couple Gets Ominous Threat For Publicly Supporting Beto O'Rourke

A couple who have a Beto O'Rourke sign in their yard have received a threatening letter from the far right.

When will this stop? People are terrorizing people simply for having a different view from the far right.

This is dangerous. They have threatened this couple and now the couple believes the far right is trying to scare them into moving.

I hope the police find these terrorist criminals and impose the full force of the law on them.

No one should be terrorized for simply having a different view from the far right.

A personal note, I drove through the panhandle of Texas last year. I drove it in my car with my state license plate. I lost count how many people tried to run me off the road and so many people rolled coal on me that combined with the horrible polluted air in Texas and Oklahoma, by the time I got to New Mexico I had a sinus infection. The people in Texas made it very clear, a person with a license plate from my state isn't welcome in Texas to the point of trying to kill the person by trying to run them off the road.

What is wrong with some of the people in Texas?
 
I put no political signs in my yard or on my car.
This is partially because I don't want my property vandalized or worse. I don't consider it to be safe in this political environment.
 
Sounds bad but anyone running that story either needs to post the whole letter, or nothing about it at all.

I would be willing to bet... those people who did this to you... were Not Asian, Not Black, Not Hispanic, Not Arab.... they were likely All "W.A.S.P."
 
Personally, I think it's stupid to put signs in your yard.

Here in my neighborhood, there are a handful of those signs that read, "We believe in..." and it goes on to list numerous left wing talking points. I just find it to be smug, self-serving, condescending, and all too self important about their opinions.

But that's who liberals are. They relish in attention-seeking behaviors and victimization.

Its not right...but I wouldn't put signs of people I'm voting for in my yard. Just no reason to. Back in the day it seemed like people thought voting and politics was more private. Then you dont have to worry about people beating you up or stealing your lawn signs.
 
Lakeway is in Travis County....where Austin is. Sorry but my skepticism is high. We have lots of Beto signs here, far more than Abbott signs.

Also: Texas is freaking SCARY man. A real dump! I lived there once. LONGEST SIX MONTHS OF MY LIFE!!! Its like a really big and flat West Virginia....with some cities....and lots of steers.

But really, they were trying to hurt you? Because of your licence plate? I don't buy it. Must have been one rough good after another.

I stopped putting up yard signs years ago. Last time I had them was 2008 when my entire property line was filled with McCain and Sununu (John, not Chris) signs.

A lot of Lakeway doesn't permit signs IIRC. I bet they don't in Steiner. The power of their HOAs is...impressive.

Maybe a fake hate crime? Who actually sent the letter? Need more facts to believe the story.

So how many times did people in Texas try to run you off the road? Did you notify the police?

Rolling coal is when a person makes modifications to their vehicle that causes thick black smoke to be spewed out of the tailpipe. Usually the person had added a separate pipe that spews out the thick black smoke.

It's illegal in my state but apparently Texas doesn't care.

My license plate is of a very blue state that most far right people love to hate. And no, it's not California or New York.

If it had happened just once that would have been one thing and I would have laughed it off. In fact, I did when the first jerk in a pickup tried to run me off the road. Unfortunately It wasn't just once. It was many times. I had to spend the night in Texas so it took me 2 days to drive through it.

On top of that, the woman at the Cadillac Ranch gift shop tried to steal some of my work photos off my cell phone. I showed her some of my work photos, shots of Carlos Santana, Robert Plant, Roger Daltry etc. I left my phone laying on the counter as I was looking at tee shirts to buy for gifts. I saw her take her phone and take photos of my work off my phone. When I asked her to delete the photos she refused. So I had to tell her fine, my employer, Getty Images, has a big legal department filled with lawyers who love to sue people like you who try to steal photos from their photographers and I will quickly call them to tell them about you and what you just did. She then deleted the photos.

I left the store and couldn't believe anyone had such nerve to steal from me like that.
