Even tho I am 82 I am still a cyclist and ride about 25 miles every other day when it is warm. Three days ago the weather guessers on their forecast said it was going to be in the low 70s here in Lincoln. It is in the low 40s. So no riding for me.

About 15 years ago the weather guessers said when they could have a computer that ran at Terra flop speed, they could give us dead accurate 5 day weather forecasts. Now there are computers that run several THOUSAND times that fast, and weather reports still stink. In fact when I was a kid in the middle 50s the local weather forecaster on TV with his chalk board was just as accurate as they are now.

This continues on with the fact that we now have a teenage girl and a washed up politician telling us what the weather is going to be like in 50 or 100 years!!!!! Yeah sure, they know NOTHING about what the out put of the sun will be, or if volcanos will spew dust and gases into the sky. They too dont want to talk about the fact the earth was much warmer in the years 1000 to about 1200. In fact it was so warm Vikings were farming southern Greenland. To my knowledge at that time there were no coal fired power plants, or large SUVs around.

Gee no leftwingers want to argue with facts.

Gramps, Weather Underground said that it is 62F at 6:31pm, which is 2 hours beyond the high point of the day which tends to be around 4:00p

Where in Lincoln do you live? My daughter lived there a few years ago. The weather in Lincoln is weird.

That's wonderful, Logical! It's great that you are in such good heath!

At age 82, you've experienced first-hand a lot of what I've merely read about, so if you feel like someone is trying to tap onto your brain and withdraw some of your knowledge, it will probably be me. :)

They can't even fix the common cold. Does that mean we should throw out all modern medicine?

Fact is one has to be smart enough to understand what the weather people are saying. Then confusion won't be part of it.

Weather≠Climate

With such a fundamental error in your premise/understanding, no wonder nobody wants to engage. Maybe take your ideas to the AGW thread and get some feedback.

There is an online forum called the "physics forum"- where a lot of really smart people hang out. You can post questions on everything from the properties of the Higgs particle, to details about the recent direct observation of a black hole, to arcane questions on thermodynamics. What's funny, though, is that they have said on their website they are absolutely not going to take any questions on climate change. I managed once to ask them why that was. It would be a great public service if they could help educate the public on it, I tried to helpfully inform them.

But they said that they were getting inundated with people with absolutely no understanding of science coming on there and asking stupid questions which were obviously just politically motivated rather than coming from a motivation of genuine curiosity and sincerely trying to understand the science. They said they didn't have enough hours in the day to do that and would rather just leave that to the politicians. Every single scientific organization on the planet dealing with climate change has put out formal statements on this issue, with detailed explanations geared towards a general lay public as well as more technical treatments of the subject. If they are really interested, they can look those up and learn. Otherwise, these people can't be helped because they don't want to be helped.

The only way to break the fever of Trumpism and be able to move on is to defeat them at the polls politically. This is not a scientific question, and climate deniers are not people who are really interested in this issue from a scientific standpoint. They are just zombies caught in the trance of a dangerous cult and its mob psychology. Hopefully that trance will break after November.
