Not because of Trump. Your post would be correctly worded as THE BIDEN EFFECT.

These policies went into effect earlier this year. Has nothing to do with Trump.

The Australian government is in a big pickle, it seems.
Kinda makes me think of a deer caught in the headlights.

Peter Dutton ramps up pressure on Kevin Rudd, after Trump names critical aide as deputy chief of staff

Peter Dutton has escalated pressure on Kevin Rudd, saying Anthony Albanese made a "captain's pick" that has put the government "in a difficult position" after one of
Donald Trump's closest advisers suggested the Australian ambassador to the United States' time was running out.

Falling short of calling for Mr Rudd's recall, the opposition leader appeared to shift from previous qualified support for the ambassador to openly speculating about the consequences of his sacking.

"The difficulty the PM is in at the moment is if he sacks Kevin Rudd, then what does he do with Penny Wong," Mr Dutton said on Thursday.

"And if he sacks Penny Wong, what does he do given he's made his own disparaging comments about president-elect Trump as well?"

'Prepared to trash alliances': Foreign Minister Penny Wong's damning assessment of Donald Trump resurfaces

A red wave has propelled Trump back into the White House for a second term, with Republicans also picking up control of the US Senate and looking on course for a potential clean sweep by securing the House.

The result has seen nations around the world scramble to prepare for a second Trump Presidency, as allies and adversaries alike also begin diplomatic efforts in order to shore up ties.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has also faced criticism over an unearthed clip in which he described the next US President as someone who "scares the sh*t out of me".

Now, a radio interview with Senator Wong from 2021 looks set to draw further scrutiny, especially given her outsized role in influencing how Australia manages the relationship.

Speaking to ABC radio in Adelaide about the AUKUS agreement and former prime minister Scott Morrison's role in negotiating it while also reneging on a separate deal with France,
the Foreign Minister divulged her own, frank, assessment of Trump.

"We've seen somebody - a leader - in recent times who was prepared to trash alliances and partnerships for personal political interest and his name was Donald Trump," she said.

The Foreign Minister refused to address these comments when asked by SkyNews.com.au.

Responsible leadership would have kept their mouths shut, in case something like this happened. That they did not, is them being incompetent.

Jill Biden seemingly ‘in love’ with Donald Trump during Notre Dame reopening

First Lady Jill Biden and President-elect Donald Trump were seen having a friendly interaction during the reopening of the Notre Dame.
The rare cross-over between the two came on Sunday, during the Notre Dame Cathedral reopening ceremony. Social media users reacted to the photo of Jill looking at Trump, with many claiming the first lady was “in love”.

During Tump's first presidency, Macron had gripped him hard during a handshake.

Macron explains his tense handshake with Trump

May 29, 2017

Pool reporter Phillip Rucker of the Washington Post, who was in the room, described it:

“They shook hands for an extended period of time. Each president gripped the other’s hand with considerable intensity, their knuckles turning white and their jaws clenching and faces tightening.”

Steve Holland, who covers the White House for Reuters, tweeted this: “The photogs noticed that Trump and Macron were gripping their hands hard… Trump seems to just want his hand back.”

Check that grip now!
Macron being short, Trump was pulling it higher, too! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

CNN hosts admit world leaders already treating Trump like he's in charge

World leaders are already treating Donald Trump like he's the "power centre" of the United States, according to CNN senior political commentator Scott Jennings.
On Monday, Jennings highlighted Trump's meetings with world leaders, his attendance at Notre Dame Cathedral's reopening, and his NBC "Meet the Press" interview.
"Trump is hitting the ground running and doing what’s needed to get the country back on track," Jennings said.
He noted Trump’s "problem-solving posture" and the world treating him as the US's power center ahead of his January inauguration.
"Donald Trump doesn't take office until January, but you can see the rest of the world is already treating him like he is the power centre of the United States," he said.

‘Rushing toward an atom bomb’: Expert warns Iran of Donald Trump

Former foreign affairs and defence committee chair Michael Danby has delivered a dire warning concerning US President-elect Donald Trump and the future of Iran.
“After January 20, if Iran continues its soundings of rushing towards an atom bomb – Trump will finish that prospect,” Mr Danby told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

Here's why Donald Trump pushed Qatar to recall Hamas leaders expelled at behest of Joe Biden administration

US President-elect Donald Trump reportedly intervened to bring Hamas leaders back in Qatar weeks after the Joe Biden administration asked Doha to expel them.

The revelation comes as Trump's pick for Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff recently visited Qatar to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
The meeting was held in the backdrop of both Trump transition team and Biden administration agreeing to coordinate in their efforts to get the hostages released.

Why did Trump want Hamas leaders back in Qatar?

The officials in the incoming president's transition team had asked Qatar to recall the ousted Hamas leaders in a bid to resume negotiations regarding a ceasefire and hostage release,
said sources quoted by The Times of Israel.
Hamas leader Bassem Naim recently said in an interview in Turkey that a ceasefire is likely soon, with the global mediators resuming negotiations with Israel and Hamas.

This meeting below might have something to do with the ultimatum that Trump gave to the Middle east - which we can say that it's highly likely, Iran would be target #1. :)

‘Fled to Turkey’: Hamas leaders are ‘in Erdogan’s hands’

“Hamas has fled from Qatar to Turkey,” Mr Danby told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“Hamas leaders are in Mr Erdogan, the President of Turkey’s hands.

“Mr Erdogan is positioning himself to be close to Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump may demand of Erdogan that he squeeze the Hamas leaders very hard.”

The release of all hostages could be the olive branch by Erdogan to Trump.

Eying reset in ties, Erdogan invites Trump to visit Turkey

President Tayyip Erdogan sought to reset Turkey's strained ties with the United States by inviting President-elect Donald Trump to visit, and said Trump spoke very positively about Turkey during a phone call.
Trump's election victory this week was generally met with cheer in NATO-member Turkey, with markets rallying and some officials cautiously optimistic about prospects for new U.S. economic policies.

The mood in Canada seems to be getting in-lined with the USA.
This shows us too, what Canada thinks of our Immigration, and border security.

Nearly half of Canadians favour mass deportations and 65% think there are too many immigrants: poll

Canadians' views are hardening on regular immigrants, who have been blamed for increasing housing costs and employment challenges
A Leger poll done for the Association for Canadian Studies found that 48 per cent of Canadians hold that view — just once percentage point shy of Americans polled who, with the election of Donald Trump,
could see such a policy enacted when he assumes office next year.

To take Trump seriously and listen to Canadians - it's a win-win for the Premier!
Canadians are getting in-lined with Trump regarding mass deportation and border security.
