The Utter Orwellian Stupidity Of Masks On Airplanes

See you inadvertently stumbled on to some truth without a source.

The pandemic was a political opportunity to exploit. To sustain that opportunity fear must maintained. Masks and vaccine cards are an opportunity to double down. I chose not to play. Many are choosing not to play. Packed airplanes bars stadiums around the country as people learned they were lied to. If it wasn't for freedom loving Americans mandates for masks and vaccines wouldn't be needed. It is needed by some for a wedge and an excuse for control.
You are proving my point. You are the reason why this pandemic has been prolonged. You are not a freedom loving American. In fact you are not American at all.

Do moron anti-maskers ask their surgeons and nurses to operate on their open chests with no gloves, masks and uncovered hair?

Maybe they should. They can take notes and report the outcome.

Mask stupidity on airplanes:

Earlier this year I read a news article about a couple of families with young autistic children either kicked off of flights, or banned from flying because they had difficulty wearing or keeping masks on. The utter stupidity of flight crews on this issue is likely based in their passive aggressive nature to control and/or punish customers because they hate their jobs. Tossing a 3 year off a flight because the child can't keep a mask on, while ignoring the other 30% of adults who's masks are likely below their noses, not to mention the fact that EVERY airline passenger is allowed to lower their mask while they are eating or drinking, means that a 3 old without a mask isn't harming anyone. All it means is that some mentally retarded flight attendant wanted to force compliance and then crow about how she was in charge of the lives of other people and other passengers. Forcing a plane to land cost everyone time, and the airline money, not to mention how those families with disabled children were traumatized.

Airlines need to do better psychological screening of employees. Anyone who would force a family off a flight for a slight mask issue is crazy.

What a "self-serving" post with a BS comment added to it.
Half the fun of online forums is. people read so much whackadoo insanity that I can post that and without a disclaimer it will sound no less nuts than what others post sincerely. ;)

Surprisingly, I agree with you on the 3 yo. Cabin crew could have cleared some space for the family in one corner, or if it was chock-a-block then call for vaccinated volunteers to sit near the family. There's probably also better ventilated areas the crew would know about.

There's still a precedent problem. Other families can claim without evidence that their child is autistic, and just by letting them run wild the kid might well seem autistic. But like all precedents, you deal with copycats when (or if) they come up.

****, right wingers are babies. Mild ****ing discomfort and inconvenience makes them screech "HELP HELP IM BEING OPPRESSED!"

Yeah, it is tough to know difference between "fake" BS and real BS. Then again, it really all depends if you are debating on a debate board or performing a comedian's gig on an online website. The problem lies in the fact that a comedian on a debate board is not going to get the applause he wants nor recognizition as a good debater.

Man…. This OP is right in my wheelhouse 😂

I recently traveled across the country to Hillsdale, Michigan. My wife and I sat for five hours each way on airplanes with a mesh mask pressed across our faces. It made the absurdity of the mask mandate we live under both clear and depressing. The charade in which we are all forced to participate is not only totalitarian in nature, but also a big Orwellian lie.

Oh no, wearing a mask in a pandemic. You're sooooooooo oppressed.

Science welcomes challenge.

I ask questions, ones that can't or won't be answered.

Actually, my experience of scientists is they don't at all welcome challenges so ignorant it's obvious the student has skipped the whole term. In fact, it's not unusual for them to lie at parties, about their occupation, particularly if it's computer related or genetics related. Challenges like "which is the best operating system?" or "which is more important, nature or nurture" can't be honestly answered without the audience already knowing quite a lot.

Do moron maskers ask of other maskers to wear the proper mask properly - or its all okay as long as you at least pretend to comply?

I do, and I've found there's a right way and a wrong way. The right way is to stare at them briefly, to get their attention, then make a little motion like pulling the mask back up. And you don't stare them down after that, you're basically giving them the benefit of the doubt that it was an accident. The WRONG way is to say "Hey, buddy ..." etc, basically saying anything.

I think some people do actually breath through their mouth despite having the mask down off their nose. They're probably not getting a good "fit" there but it's still better than no mask. We all have to cut each other some slack I think, for symbolic attempts to 'do the right thing' and alienating those people into blatant no-maskers would be making matters worse.

What about laughable "fashion" mask ?
Rule is - if you can smell through your mask - it's permeable to virus particles.

Virus "particles" are water droplets, and come in a range of sizes. Unless you're wearing a medical mask (which few can afford, as used properly they are disposable) you really shouldn't look down on people's fashion masks. Any mask is better than no mask, since the virus-bearing capacity of a droplet goes up at the square of its diameter. A bad mask only catches big droplets, but those are the most important to catch.

As to your bumpkin test for mask effectiveness, the minimum size of a respiratory particle that can contain SARS-CoV-2 is calculated to be approximately 4.7 μm

And Sulfur with an approximate molecule diameter of 0.0004 μm is detectable by smell and could certainly pass through an N95 mask. Smoke particles, which are heterogeneous, tend to be larger at approximately 1 μm (7). However, some smoke particles can be small enough to pass through a mask, and odoriferous gases, such as hydrogen sulfide, may certainly do so.

Never mind, you were within one order of magnitude, or four. Close enough is good enough when your students are so dull, right?

You need to send a letter to OSHA to inform them that their test is "bumpkin" - and with that you've scored ZERO credibility so - buh bye.

So OSHA issued the guideline "if you can smell stuff, your mask isn't good enough" ..?

Or ... is your haste to conclude our conversation just you trying to avoid admitting you were wrong about "the rule"?

Is your Google finger broken?

Btw, ammonia molecules have a diameter of 260 picometers, which is 0.260 micrometres. It is definitely smaller than what any mask can cope with, while also going airborne without any droplet to support it.

Take a sniff of some ammonia cleaner with your mask on. Don't sniff too hard: ammonia will hurt your nose.

Actually, ammonia is poisonous and should be banned for cleaning purposes.

So don't sniff ammonia. But do try to visualize how I feel about your posts, screenwriter

Yes I see you are way deep over your head trying to think of anything

Anti-vaxxers crack me up. One thread they'll be telling us that the vaccines don't prevent transmission of the disease, so now they try to tell us that wearing a mask on planes is dumb because most people have been vaccinated.

Brilliant logic.

They have so many lies to keep up with they inevitably run into contradictions.

Yes I see you persisting in making this about me. Let's talk about masks?

When I hear some variation on "google it yourself" I hear someone who does not have the strength even of their own source. Link, or remain forever an internet nobody making claims.

I always suspected you were a genius. This post seals it.
