Washington Post columnist
Jennifer Rubin’s comments on MSNBC:
The only way to purge the GOP of Donald Trump supporters is to burn down the Republican Party with no survivors. What we should be doing is shunning these people. Shunning, shaming these people is a statement of moral indignation that these people are not fit for polite society.
“I think it’s absolutely abhorrent that any institution of higher learning, any news organization, or any entertainment organization that has a news outlet would hire these people," said Rubin.
"It’s not only that Trump has to lose, but that all his enablers have to lose," said Rubin. "We have to collectively, in essence, burn down the Republican Party. We have to level them because if there are survivors, if there are people who weather this storm, they will do it again."
She declared: "They will take this as confirmation that, ‘Hey, it just pays to ride the waves — look at me, I’ve made it through.’ ... It is our job to hold them accountable, for the rest of their lives."
As to what I have quoted here, and up to this date, I have never seen this sort of language and intentionality expressed in the MSM. Nor the assaults on the fundamental liberty of Free Speech. Nor the bannings and the threats of exclusion. True, all these things had been in the works for many years prior. Yet now it comes out into the open. This is a foreboding of exactly same species of censorship and political exclusion that went on in Stalinist Russia, in Germany, and in Communist China. I say this, many see it and say it, but for those invested in their hatred they are blind to the ramifications. They pay no attention. They 'dismiss' these concerns. Then, they pretend that they are 'defending our democracy'! while they actively undermine it at the most foundational level.
We did it. 4 years ago we watched this angry ugly petty tiny little racist goon take office. GOP owned all branches. Trump promised us American carnage, he kept that promise.
No! Reverse that. It is the *Resistance* (your term) that promised carnage when the wrong man was elected -- and they kept their promise!
One of the things people have been saying, it seems true, is that when a Resistance-Radical (Left-Progressive, Democrat, I have no idea what the proper term should be), makes a statement like this, you are better off understanding that they are making a statement
about themselves. It seems fair to say that Left-Progressives are deeply involved in constant psychological projection. They externalize their own content and intentions on their *favorite enemy*. This occurs at a mass social level and is cheer-led by a neo-journalistic outfit like the NYTs.
The description "this angry ugly petty tiny little racist goon" is so laden with irrational hatred and contempt that, from a psychological perspective, must be seen as suspect. It is true that there are bona fide racists in America. But it is also true that there are people who are fairly and responsibly concerned for illegal immigration and excessive immigration. And then there are people who might not really have reason to care one way of or the other. And then there are people who, for a group of reasons, actually desire an 'open border' nation.
It is not possible though -- it is simply inaccurate -- to describe the man Donald Trump as a racist or as an "angry ugly petty tiny little racist goon". It is a term that seeps out of an overheated brain invested in contempt and hatred. The terms are so excessive that I suspect, Aunt Antifa, you have been blinded by your rage. And this blind rage is of course explained by the term "TDS". Yet it has become a 'national hysteria'.
But what then
are the motives that work in you? That is to ask what is the *psychology* that animates you? I have the sense that you are likely incapable of this introspection so I am unsure how the question could be answered. Yet it should be examined and it should be answered.
