The Religion Forum is starting to piss me off.

I just got another infraction for saying that religion is B.S. Why don't athiests have their own forum? If theists can then we deserve one too.
 
It's just BS that as soon as you confront someone about their beliefs you get an infraction. I'm just saying that atheists should have a forum to discuss and say whatever they want and as soon as a theist brings up god, jesus, whatever they get an infraction I think that would only be fair IMO.

Quit whining. Start your own forum and make your own rules. This pretty clearly infers that you can't post "Religion is B.S." :

This forum is dedicated and limited to discussions of religion, faith, and spirituality. Threads/posts critical of religion and spiritual aspects are not allowed here and will result in a B/F/T Infraction + Thread Ban.

:rofl -- I'm thinking some posters get off on swooping into religious threads, derailing them, and havin' a good ole' fashioned knock-down-drag-out. Well, my friend, not here. You'll have to brush up on your politics....as in Debate POLITICS.

Well we're in the philsophy forum where it is okay to rip on religion. Still though theists can't handle criticizm, but they love to criticize. That's the way it is and that's the way it always has been.

and I was simply trying to make a point that the fact that religion says that being gay is wrong means it's B.S.

I was simply trying to make a point, because we were talking about being gay as being a sin.

No I probably shouldn't have said that, but still all I'm saying is that the rules are obviously in favor of the people that believe in god. How do you start your own forum?

That's not a forum for atheism though, you cannot discuss a lack of belief in any meaningful manner, it'll just be "God doesn't exist" "I agree" and there's the entire forum. If you want to criticise religion, you're free to do it here in the philosophy forum.
 
I think too many atheists look at the religion forum in the wrong way. It's not there just because DP feels bad for the theists or anything. It's there because (and I know this may seem crazy) there's more than one religion, and more than on sect/set of beliefs for each religion. Yes, they're all "theists" by definition, but that doesn't mean they all believe the same thing. So it's actually beneficial for people that want to talk about religious matters (i.e. debate between different sects or religions) to have a forum where atheists aren't swooping in 2-3 times a page with something along the lines of "LULZLULZLULZ your imaginary friend is stupid! Your so dumb! Hahahaha spaghetti!" or some variation thereof.

Religion is not banned from the philosophical forum because religion is a type of philosophy, thus it makes sense to include it. So what, you want a pure atheism forum? What would you discuss? How much you disbelieve in things? There's nothing there to talk about. The only things you could talk abou are reasons that you don't believe in religion, which fit perfectly well within the philosophical forum. DP is just saving server space, it's not a case of special treatment.

Yeah, but there should be a counter religion forum where it should be an infraction for saying that god exists then it would only be fair that way.

FWIW, you can bash religion freely in the Philosophy forum, and indeed across most of DP, and as long as you don't exceed the rules you will not be infracted. Religion is the one subforum reserved for civil discussion of religious issues, where potentially inflammatory statements like "religion is BS" are not permitted. If you simply can't live with the fact that you can bash religion pretty freely in 98% of DP but not in one little subforum... then maybe you need a new hobby. :)
