I feel sorry for the homeless with these bitter cold temperatures.If that was me I would show up at the police department and ask if they are looking for any criminals.I would confess to anything for a warm place to sleep.

I got lot of problems and a lot of issues...but VERY THANKFUL to be in a nice warm house, with the bills paid, decent transportation, and about anything I want to eat or drink.
very frigid out there, just walked out to the street to check the mail.

Or you could play any side of any issue and not really mean what you say, in order to get a rise out of people. That might be fun.

PSA: but it's more than that. Homeless people do commit crimes just to get a roof over their head. In our rush to feel superior to someone, we as a society tend to overlook the obvious fact that life does what it has to to live.
 
Not just humans, I feel bad for the stray cats that are stuck outside in the freezing temps. I see them around my shop all the time. We've already adopted two of them, but there's a lot of them that won't make it through the winter.

I mean, people do that. That is a thing that happens for sure.
 
I was talking to one of my colleagues a while back (On the phone). He lives in Japan and I was interested about the culture there.
I asked him many frivolous things and when I got to the housing costs and homeless people and how we treat our people here.... He kinda' paused and said:
"Ah...we don't have any." Ouch!
 
I usually hand out protein bars to homeless people instead of money while driving along the road. Going to a dollar store to get a set of knit gloves helps them now too.
 
Sad but true.



Probably the reason prisons can't be seen as safe places, otherwise more folks might want to join.

They gotta keep appearances down, not up.

I tell Uber and Lyft psgrs all the time about a discussion I had a couple years ago about giving.

Someone said to me that what you give says volumes about your character, and how they use what you give speaks volumes about theirs.

I replied by saying giving is about listening, not being heard. That includes looking at facial expressions, body language, and tone of voice to discern if someone's forthcoming or not. Sometimes, helping people is about making decisions for them when they're not in a sound state of mind to think for themselves as in wanting to buy beer, cigarettes, and lottery tickets.

No idea why you went there. It's sad that the American homeless don't have the same accommodations as the illegals.You must be blind if you can't understand that or see it

One year in San Diego we had a disrespectfully cold winter. Nobody had clothes for an actual winter.

And some homeless guy figured out that breaking into a street corner mailbox was a federal misdemeanor with a 90 day sentence.

Federal detention was full to bursting. And they were warm and fed.

I'm not speaking of the left. I'm speaking of the people the right says needs to pull themselves up by themselves. Are these not those people?
