This election season already is a disaster for the Left because they nominated not only a moron, but a corrupt, plagiarizing, sexual predator. Not only that, if any non-Leftist looks at this shutdown, as bad as it has been for millions of people losing their jobs and businesses, there were some unintended consequences for these guys on the Left. I'm going to flat out (again) say that Trump is going to win reelection (possibly bigger than 2016, or not, but he's going to win). That's not what I'm talking about.
The REAL fight is going to happen in education. I don't know about other districts across the country, but just in the past 2 weeks or so, my town's school levee went down in flames because they were getting ready to announce that there was going to be no classes held inside the physical buildings. Well, if that's the case, it makes no sense to pay for property tax on the schools if the school board wasn't going to allow its students to get back in. Plus much of these taxes go to the teacher unions as well, and again, why pay the extra money when you can see to it the money goes to the teachers instead? Then you have BOTH the student and the parents exposed to online and homeschooling, which costs a heck of a lot less to do all that rather than spend hundreds of dollars on school supplies, before and during the school year, and schooling would only be 3-4 hours (if that) max a day, opposed to 8 hours a day. All you need is a computer or tablet, a link, pay whatever fee that needs pay, and they're in. And the parents can actually see what their children are being taught because they are present in form or another. Also, the amount of money to be spent on teachers wouldn't be as much because there wouldn't be a need to have as many. It all makes sense and it would save tax payers thousands because it's unnecessary to pay for something that isn't even going to be used. ALL OF THIS is going to be the fight.
It's already, somewhat, started where I live. There is going to be a special election held in August for my school district (can't speak for anyone else in other districts on this) and the school levee is going back up for a vote. The reason why is they realized how much money they're missing out on. At the same time, they love the convenience of being at home and getting paid the same. The "compromise" would be that there would be 3 days out of the week to do online work and only 2 days in the physical building (Chinese Virus fears). From what I know, it's the same amount of tax payer money, and if it's true, people are not going to pay for something like that if the building is only being used less than half the days that's required to go to school. That would be asinine to do it that way. I can see this thing being voted down again and I can see a BIG eruption coming from the teacher union. I can see that happening across the nation, too. And for the first time in a VERY long time, the parents and tax payers in general will finally have their day on this matter of the public school system. I can see, shortly after this, colleges and universities being the next targets. THEN there will be fights by not just the student loans department, but the federal/state governments and faculty in these institutions as well intervening.
It may not seem like much, but with everything going on, well, things may actually get better on that front.
