Hmmm, let's see...

War on video games ... already started by the dems in places such as Washington DC and Illinois (sorry)

War on junk food ... already begun by dems in places like NYC and SF (sorry)

War on women ... ummm, ok?????

War on prostitution ... both sides would be against this (unless the dems can tax the hell out of it that is) (sorry, again)

War on education ... until government leaves the education system alone, both sides are guilty of destroying education (sorry, one more time)

War on sex ... are you serious??? Get married and you can forget about ever having sex again. There is no war necessary, just marry someone and see for yourself (sorry, again)

War on Freedom ... that's what Al Queda and the like have already declared. (Sorry, but they beat you to it)

War on music ... again, started by the dems (remember Tipper Gore) (sorry, yet again)

War on cookies ... see 'War on Junk Food'

I know you are trying to be cute and clever with your dislike of anything right of center, but you missed the mark on every single one of these. I don't particularly agree with a neocon agenda, but it isn't any more dangerous than a ultra-liberal agenda either (funny how you failed to mention that).

Indeed, all of those were started by liberals.

What throws me off is the wars we already FIGHT that were started by republicans.

One side fights wars we shouldn't fight, and the other fights wars we can't win.

Pick your side. You lose.

Sorry P/N, Al qaeda hasn't taken our freedoms, Bush&Co. have.

Sorry P/N, Al qaeda hasn't taken our freedoms, Bush&Co. have.
Can you show me where I said that AQ has "taken out freedoms"? Nope, I didn't think so. They (AQ) hate us because we are free and have declared war on free societies. And I will ask the same question that jailman asked, what freedoms have "Bush & co" taken away from you exactly? Again, none. Your hatred for everything "Bush & co" have blinded you from the truth. And BTW, if you are referring to the Patriot Act, BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE signed off on it. But no freedoms were taken away from either you or I in doing so.

Exactly what freedoms are you lacking today that you had prior to "Bush & Co"?

Illegal wiretaps and the death of Habeus Corpus. Illegal searches.

Those dems are included in "Co." I apologize for the biased implication.

You've been tapped illegally, searched illegally, or had habeus corpus suspended for you? How about anyone you know? Someone you know who knows someone maybe? Or are we just talking about the right to Habeus Corpus that enemy combatants have never had anyway?

Jose Padilla. I know, he was guilty. Well then they didn't need to suspend habeu corpus.

How would I know if I were wiretapped? I still don't want Big Brother listening in. What happens between me and my doctor should go no further than that as well.

So then, your answer is no. No, you have not had any of your liberties or freedoms damaged by "Bush & Co". Glad we cleared that up.

My answer is I don't know. Like you tell me with god, I don't know that he doesn't exist. You don't know they haven't illegally searched me.

That was the case before the dreaded "Bush & Co" also. Why is this suddenly an issue after "Bush & Co" were direct and honest about needing certain abilities to fight the WOT?

And I am willing to bet my left nut you haven't been illegally searched.

9/11 didn't change everything. They can still attack us.

I don't want your left nut. Thanks for offering.

But thanks to the measures our government has taken, they haven't. In fact, they have been thwarted. 9-11 did change a lot in this country.

Lots of things changed, unnecessarily.

I agree. It was unnecessary for us to be attacked at a civilian site. Due to that unnecessary attack, it became necessary for us to change our policies slightly in order to more effectively combat enemies that hid in our midst. Thank Al Qaida for the unnecessary changes.

But it changed what was important. And that was our mentalities about what we are facing. Especially when it came to our stupid politicians on each side. Bin Ladden wasn't the only one that was convinced that he finally got our government's attention. Even the Democrats know that the "War on Terror," as poorly named as it is (though a "War on the Middle Eastern Civiliation Mind Thought" doesn't quite flow), is much more than about Al-Queda. Before 9/11, all of our problems were conveniently just about a Bin Laden fella that blows up Americans every now and then abroad as we pretended that the only real threat to Americans was China's million man army. Something as big as 9/11 and the reactions it got in his region forced Americans to recognize that such hatred and zealousy can only come from an indoctrination that stems from a civilizational level.

As far as any changes we have done locally for our protection, I don't think anything has hurt us yet.

War on Waste

Fox News has a headline banner declaring Bushes desire to end/decrease earmarks the new neo-con war

no you know

I can't believe this partisan thread is still going on.

The war on <insert buzzword here> was a trend started by a democratic politician in 1964 - a real liberal sleezeball (who Navy Pride voted for BTW) coined the War on Poverty in a State of the Union Address.

Because it was an effective propoganda tool, it found its way in both parties.

But for this thread to ignore the historical aspect and turn it into a republican bash is silly.

So then, your answer is no. No, you have not had any of your liberties or freedoms damaged by "Bush & Co". Glad we cleared that up.
That's not cleared up!

Padilla was denied his civil rights for two years.

And we are to believe that you care so greatly about Padilla? Do you equally lose sleep over the innocent individuals on death row or incarcerated for crimes they did not commit in America? When inbdividuals are released from prison due to DNA evidence, do you call for the judicial system to crumble? Are you aware that in war (EVERY war), people are imprisoned all the time simply because they are in the wrong place at the wrong time, but the preservation of mission and troop safety trump all liberal bleeding heart sentiments of hug thy neighbor?

I doubt that the percentage of "innocent" individuals incarcerated at Gitmo come close to the "innocent" we have making license plates right here at home. Surley, your hatred for President Bush is equal to what you must feel for American judges, lawyers, and cops.

What about the "War on Poverty" Johnson launched, along with his war on vietnam?

Anyway, it's not like the Democrats have tried to end either the War on Drugs, or the War on the Justice System, in the 40+ years they've been around.

I don't think it'll be the neocons who launch the next 'war,' probably a Dem aiming at videogames, junkfood, more on drugs, and other stuff we need our government to arrest us for.

I don't know what country you are defending, but mine is America.

Maybe you should go defend Bhurma.

Not to mention that the drug war is being fought using the expansion of federal power regarding interstate commerce - a power sought by FDR to implement his new deal economic policy.

I don't know what country you are defending, but mine is America.

No, you have always defended the notion that we all belong to the UN and that America comes second. Or some fantasy idea of liberal perfection that never existed. Let's not pretend that your constant critique of troop actions, allegiance to any exaggeration you can get your hands on, and your insatiable hunger for controversey has anything to do with standing by America.

While you defend your imaginary notion of what you think America is, remember....we used to support the Saddam's. So what America are you defending here? Pre-WWII?
