If we blow this and fail to stop this invasion, I fear we are lost as a country. Hundreds of thousands/millions more will come and we will be powerless to stop them. And there is no way we will be able to retain our quality of life and we will become like the miserable places they came from.

It is not heartless to protect our borders and control who will be allowed to be here legally. There are probably some relatively harmless folks in that mob, but there are a whole bunch of people we don't want here too because they are lawless, ruthless, dangerous, some murderous.

I sure wish we could identify who is funding and supplying this invasion. It damn sure isn't anybody who is conservative or who loves America.

I hope people are paying attention when they vote.

While 99% of them are just victims of events there, we still need to keep them out of our country. Trump should just be playing that card instead of calling them criminals. We just don't have the means to take care of an extra few billion people from all over the world that are in bad situations and the more people who make it here, especially in caravans such as this, the more it is just an open invitation to every disadvantaged person in the world to come here illegally.

I can appreciate the caravan's desire to leave a third world country to live here. Unfortunately, our society will encourage them to keep speaking Spanish and to get some type of government assistance in order that they vote democrat. Sure, the democrats get a vote, but the cost is huge to the migrant - he remains illiterate in English and works menial jobs - no assimilation.

For many years, the gov't has made concession after concession to these invaders. We need to put our foot down very firmly on the illegal immigration issue, once and for all, or we, as a nation, will end up like the third-world ****-holes that they are coming from. As of now, only some parts of this country have reached this ****-hole status; unless strong action is taken, the entire country will inevitably follow.

What, exactly, should the US do about folks that show up claiming asylum status?

Trump has said on multiple occasions that the law needs to be changed - changed to what is not clear (as is often the case with Trump). IMHO, we (and other nations) should set an annual limit and once that limit is reached be able to refuse any more asylum seekers.

WTF? What does "regional merit" even mean? I'm simply saying that once the concert hall is full then no more admissions are going to be allowed. I can see no sense in setting a limit of only 1/4 of available seats can be filled by folks from region X.
