While there likely isn't a connection, it is still funny. :)

Does Trump need to hire a ghost writer to write his legislation? Free balling on his own is not working.

The republicans could have just kept hand off and let it collapse.

the president submits an idea

It is more than an idea. Obama wrote legislation he submitted to the Senate on more that one occasion.

Maybe you're used to your president being an "ideas guy" with no real legislative experience, but that does not speak to what all real President do.

Ummmmm. There hasn't even been a vote of the full house yet. Is this all you have left in life, making as many anti-Trump threads as you can? I feel pity for your sorry lot in life.

Writing legislation is way too time consuming and complicated to be done by the president.

The president presents an ideal framework of what he wants accomplished to party leaders, they put flesh on the bones and it goes to committee where the real work is done.

You're pretty much right, but I wouldn't think the prez would making it a habit to outline some bill to be introduced to some committee. If he's got that much time on his hands, he ain't doing his job.

Law Making is delegated to Congress. Enforcing laws is supremely delegated to the president. Enforcement is primarily carried out through various agencies under delegated under his Executive duties.

But Trump doesn't like the idea that he doesn't have full authority over all branches of government. It infringes on Trump doing any and everything he wants to do at will (praise Buddha).

Being President is becoming more of a "surprise, surprise" experience for Trump...on a daily bases. He's just not as slick as he thinks himself to be.

If republicans had a "hands off" policy that would have been good. The thing you're ignoring (or your sources of info are not telling you) is that republicans worked to sabotage it. They encouraged people to not sign up, they didn't expand Medicaid in 19 states and they sabotaged the risk corridor program. every one of those actions added to the cost of policyholders. the current "uncertainty" is also not helping.

Republicans simply need to stop attacking Obamacare, expand Medicaid in every state and remove the cap on subsidies. Sadly, that would require them to admit they've lied the last 8 years.

Obamacare is called Obamacare for a reason. Why should the right do anything to help legislation that was crammed down their throats without a single vote? But, thanks for admitting that Obamacare is indeed a disaster and getting worse. If it wasn't, it wouldn't need fixing. Since they crammed it down Republicans throats without a single Republican vote, then why didn't they get it right in the first place so it wouldn't need fixing? They could have just crammed through single payer if they had wanted to.

MR, thank you for your obedient conservative response. Of course you have to dishonestly "misparaphrase" my post in your desperate yet obedient desire to deflect. and fyi, you should google why its called Obamacare.

I don't need to google it. It is called Obamacare for a reason, because Obama and the Dems own it. And, even though they crammed the thing through without a single Republican vote, they crammed through something so bad that even the left themselves admit that it needs fixing. Since they want single payer so bad, and since they crammed it through without a single Republican vote, then why didn't they just cram through single payer in the first place? There were 26 "Blue Dog Democrats" seated in Congress at the time ACA was in the making who were the obstacle to Single Payer Insurance. Obama was warned by the Blue Dogs that the ACA was pushing the envelope - so don't press them to vote for a SP law.

Despite everyone's beliefs, there have periods of times when there have been a substantial number of "conservative" Democrats in Congress (aka Blue Dogs)

From a CNN article on the Trumpcare failure:

'By all accounts, the President endured long meetings with both sides of the Republican divide, using his signature style to try to woo even the most reluctant participants. But even as the White House and Republican leaders repeatedly played up Trump's engagement, there was often a suspicion -- voiced quietly but repeatedly by senior congressional aides involved in the process and at times by many of the rank-and-file lawmakers themselves -- that he was not all in.
The President's lobbying efforts sounded impressive: Face-to-face meetings with more than 120 members of Congress. For good measure, private phone calls with many of them.
But in many of those meetings, details were an afterthought, according to multiple people present.
"Staff was for details, Trump was for closing," said one senior congressional aide. When it came to details, Trump "didn't know, didn't care, or both."

He didn't answer their specific questions about the bill, according to three members of Congress who attended the meetings. He didn't offer any arguments for why they should support the legislation other than to give him his first legislative victory.
Trump repeatedly focused instead on the politics of the broader situation, the people said. In the Oval Office, he quizzed the Republicans about the margin of victory in their districts last fall. His victory, not theirs.
"He did very little to say why we should vote 'yes,' " one Republican member of Congress said, speaking on condition of anonymity to avoid alienating the White House. "He kept talking about his damn election."
In the end, the man dubbed "the ultimate closer" could not close the deal.
Trump swept into office with soaring crowds and big rallies. But for the biggest legislative fight of his young presidency, he barely mentioned health care as he made only two trips outside Washington to sell the bill. Repealing Obamacare often came off more as a slogan rather than a driving policy proposition. And the legislation Trump was touting, which would've insured 24 million fewer Americans over the next decade, bore little resemblance to his campaign trail promises.
His advisers once telegraphed a robust travel schedule, taking his case directly to the heart of Freedom Caucus districts. That never happened.'

For Trump, no closing this deal - CNNPolitics.com

It's typical Trump...big on semantics, small on facts/details/knowledge of the thing he is trying to sell.

What a buffoon...little more than a glorified used car salesman/televangelist-type.

He can sell to the weak/ignorant/desperate. But to people with a spine and/or an IQ over 100...he is generally hopeless.

Once again, I have ZERO loyalty to any political party or movement.

this was to be a starting point on changing ACA.

doing the all or nothing was stupid.

Do you even have a clue what is needed to pass single payer? A political uprising of great magnitude. Even greater than what the Republicans have done over the last six years. You guys thought electing Hillary was a shoe in and had zero clue that the political uprising of great magnitude was going to be Trump being elected to turn Washington upside down. You are fools buying into your own propaganda if you think if the election were redone tomorrow that Hillary would win this time. Buying into your own propaganda only furthers your head in the sand ideology. Just because liberals are loud does not mean they are growing in numbers. They are just the same people who have had trouble accepting the reality that their thoughts and ideas have been thoroughly rejected, right down to the governors and state legislatures.
