the lunch thread

Two Hawaiian rolls with egg salad that my wife made.

Pop has one of his old fishing buddies coming over today for lunch - I'm making them French dip sandwiches with a side of chips and a caprese salad as an appetizer.

Fresh sushi (spicy California roll) from my local Kroger.

I have been digging this lately, and had it for lunch again today :

It's consistently good and isn't difficult to cook in a work microwave. I like pretty much everything I've tried from this brand.

I got a prepackaged Italian sub because I am at 2/3 ****it. Also picked up a diet Pepsi. Let's make it to the afternoon, yo.

Lean cuisine cheese pizza.

Blueberry bagel with low fat cream cheese
Sun chips.

Sloppy Joe
Mixed veggies
Brownie.

Bagel with low fat cream cheese
Fritos.

Egg salad sandwich on a Kaiser roll
Fritos.

Turkey and Swiss on a Kaiser bun with light mayo and romaine lettuce
Ruffles.

My "go to" lunches for Pop lately have been either chicken salad or tuna salad, a side of cottage cheese and then a tomato/cucumber/onion fridge salad (I make this in the quart size mason jar - cherry tomatoes, English cucumber, vidalia onion - Mrs. Dash seasoning, olive oil, white balsamic vinegar and a drizzle of Balsamic glaze)

Today I have to make another batch of both the tomato salad and the chicken salad. The roaster is in the oven currently.

Late lunch. Slice of cheese pizza at a kiddo party.

Blueberry bagel with lower fat cream cheese
Cheetos.

Pepsi Zero. This one is a new favorite.

Lunch was an Impossible burger with cheese and a garden salad with Italian dressing. Iced tea without sugar. Hospital food can be decent.

Split a soft pretzel and cheese with the fam. It was awesome. Pepsi Zero on the side.

I had shrimp cocktail, potato salad, a buttered bagel and a mandarin.

Roast beef sandwich on cheese bread with potato soup.

Cinnamon and raisin bagel with reduced fat cream cheese
Fritos.

I've been fighting some vicious side effects of an awful medicine I have been taking for a few months.

On good days I can eat normally. On bad days I have to adjust my food intake in weird ways.

Today was a bad day so I had my bad-day-diet of a couple of bananas, a glass of milk and a pack of potato chips. Macro nutrients, and sodium and potassium, greatly improve my late day energy and my body doesn't reject carbohydrates as easily as proteins. I'd like to go back to eating yogurt, but my body can't handle it right now, unfortunately, even on my good days.

Sorry to hear that you're on a bad day.
