I want to puke every time some leftie baby killing supporter tell me "it's not who we are" when talking about any issue...from enhanced interrogation to healthcare. barry was a great one for this...and that mantra continues.

pp kills about 300,000 babies annually and is largely funded by the government...is this who we are?

Allow me to ask...what if that animal dylan roof had information about a friend that he's been plotting with that was about to do the same thing that he did? Do you support enhanced interrogation to get the information?

No, the US should not be torturing people, ESPECIALLY ITS OWN CITIZENS. Are you really trying to give a blank check to the government to torture Americans without a trial? The only burden of proof we need is a government bureaucrat thinking you might be guilty of something? Why don't we start with torturing you to find out why you hate America, its values and our Constitution so much.

No. But I'm asking an emotional question for the emotional crowd. I am 100% for enhanced interrogation for enemy combatants when needed.

No. It's not who I am.

Did you retch? I sure hope so.

Your example was American citizens, now you're backtracking and saying you don't mean that, but only foreign combatants? The vast majority of people we interned in Guantonomo were released without charge because we didn't have any evidence to convict them. In Afghanistan (where I've been), villagers would finger other villagers to the Americans in power plays just to get rid of that person. The evidence they had anything to do with anything was sketchy at best in most cases. Further, torture has been undeniably proven as ineffective during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. People will tell you ANYTHING you want to hear to make it stop, the testimony provided is not reliable.

You may be an advocate of sinking to the level of the terrorists and torturing and killing innocent people, but we really are better than that. Stop letting your fear control your opinions and learn to overrule your emotions.

In a desperate moment when lives are at stake, I support any means of getting life saving information. Lefties sure like to lie!

What desperate moment have you experienced in the last 17 years where YOUR life was at stake? How did torture protect YOUR life? Be specific. You're so emotional and scared you're willing to **** on the Constitution and totally abandon the concept of human rights? Get a grip and control your emotions.

Ooooo....I just love when lefties bring up the constitution!

Yes, I love the Constitution and want to protect it from people in an emotional and hysteric state demanding we let the government torture American citizens willy-nilly and without trial. Totally disgusting OP.

I bet you don't even know the basics of it. You simply cannot be a leftie and a supporter of the constitution.

Good point. When we have the monthly cell meeting of the local Leon Trotsky & August Spies Marching & Drinking Society, we love to burn a copy of the Constitution if somebody forgets to bring a flag. It always makes everybody feel good and puts a smile on our collective face.

I don't doubt it.

You can be a leftist and support the constitution. Just not the kind leftist that we see bleating about imagined social issues.

I am perfectly fine with torture against criminals, so long as it leads to lives being saved.

Is this before or after the government convicts them? If it's before, why do you hate the Constitution? If it's after, how could it be so pressed for time after going through a whole trial process?

Putting it another way, would you be ok if it was Obama torturing Americans while assuring you they're all "criminals" that deserve it?

The question should be...how far would you go to save a life, the life of someone you know, the lives of innocent strangers even? It is great to be theorizing about our actions when sitting comfy behind a screen, it may be completely different when faced with a life and death situation.
What would I do? I don't know. I really don't. Can anyone say for sure? Lets be honest.

At the risk of forcing you to puke, post a few links of leftists saying, "it's not who we are". It's not something I've ever heard my fellow leftists say.

"The government should be able to torture me without showing evidence if they say there is an emergency."

You trusted Obama with this power, did you?

Yes, that's the question if you're completely uninterested in preserving Constitutional rights and base your decision making purely on immediate fear and emotional reactions. Torture has been proven to be completely ineffective and giving the government a blank check to torture people some bureacrat thinks might be a threat is incredibly dangerous to our rights and safety.

I asked the OP the same thing, let's see if you'll answer: Would you be ok if it was Obama torturing Americans while assuring you they're all "criminals" that deserve it?

He swears he'll only torture criminals and to protect the people, so would you let Obama torture the people he considers threats?

Foreign agents that are caught is simple. They are not legally American and therefor are not subject to such rights. Human rights on the other hand are an issue all their own. Which if they are proven to be hostile entities, then I would say go ahead and pull out the pliers.

Other countries do worse to their own citizens and we just get to stand here and point. With them not changing a damn thing. Citing either religious, political, or even imaginary reasons for doing so.

The word is a massive scope for view and I would be more then amicable to a grey stance. Rather then black & white.

You are theorizing. We all look perfect on paper. My question is, do you know how far you would go. If we are honest, the answer is "I don't know".

Oh my gosh! Babies are being killed? Where? When?

I'm not theorizing, I'm openly stating that it's unconstitutional and irrationally dangerous to let the government torture American citizens without trial. Try to control you fear and stop trying to erode our rights. We're not talking about individuals, we're talking about the US government.

Answer my question: Would you be ok if it was Obama torturing Americans while assuring you they're all "criminals" that deserve it?

I'm well aware that you don't give one flying rat's ass about human rights, but most Americans do. People are wrongly snagged by Americans in and out of warzones all the time. The vast majority of Guantonomo inmates were released because there was not enough evidence to convict them of a crime. I find it disheartening how little you care about whether they're actually guilty or not. Better just torture them anyway, just in case.
