Interesting, and consistent with what we know about Trump. However, whether or not Trump is being manipulated, the reality is that we all know that Iran has only one purpose behind its refining of Uranium and its new stock piling of much higher-grade material. And the only reason they might pause the program (if that) is because they believe that one day it will be completed - hence, it must remain intact and ready for final refinement and assembly.

So, the problem remains. Can Israel or the west afford to gamble and let Iran remain on the cusp of fielding a weapon? Are we going to know, for sure, their progress before it is too late? Is it worth eliminating their centrifuges?

These are questions that require deeper thinking than Trump is capable of, which is what he often appears indecisive (or reverses himself). The only way he can "process" this is on a very simple level: does he have personal trust in Iranians? Does he look weak? Can't they just agree?

This is an opportunity to settle those questions now. Yes, there will be unknown consequences BUT its not as if US has to target any more than one or two underground facilities. No strikes on Iran's command structure, communications, or army is necessary. Four MOP's per target is all that is necessary. The Israelis can do mop up.
