"The Independents" discuss racism.

"The Independents" doesn't seem like such a bad show.

That's what I was thinking also... That's a big part of why I posted the link and started the thread in the first place..

It seems odd to me that anyone would think discussing racism was any longer necessary. That is very sad.

?????????????

That show was actually focused more on the accusations of racism that have become part of the political landscape since Obama took office. That's what made it different and more interesting to watch.

The first two guest speakers were just annoying and didn't really add all that much, but if they get better guests it seems like it would be an interesting show.

I just didn't like the direction it went into, but it looks like they were at least trying to have an actual discussion. The discussion about the accusation of racism could have been it's own segment.

?????????????

Racism was discussed and the issue fought in the 50s and 60s. Everything was said that can be said and massive corrective measures were taken . We have had persons of color in every walk of life.
The problems that we have now are to the greatest part not race based but social like schools in underprivileged areas, I should think. And attributing them to racism is probably only a comfortable explanation.

Okay. Odd but okay.

So what then is the uncomfortable explanation?

[pendebate;1062812736]Are you avoiding the question? What is the right problem?[/QUOTE]

The right problem? Is there such a thing?

But the problem we seem to have to face is that the mechanisms to bring the kids from the lower classes into work.

That's a fine problem and merits a discussion.... But that isn't the discussion taking place on this thread.
