It appears that Senate Minority Leader Addison McConnell will thwart efforts for the formation of an independent commission similar to the 9/11 commission to investigate the events of the attack on the nation's Capital. He well may be right in doing so. One of the functions of such a commission is to discover the roots of the attack. Senate Minority Leader McConnell has apparently already done so, negating, at least in part, the need.
In his own words:
“There's no question — none — that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day. No question about it. The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their president. The leader of the free world cannot spend weeks thundering that shadowy forces are stealing our country and then feign surprise when people believe him and do reckless things."
Regards, stay safe 'n well.
