Spend long enough on the Internet and you will likely be met with a post informing you that the speed of light is 299,792,458 meters per second, and the latitude of the Great Pyramid of Giza is 29.9792458°N, before inviting you to assess whether this is a coincidence or not.
Ancient Egyptians used cubits,.....
 More proof they were instructed and helped by 'The Gods'!
Run with it Georgio!

There are 12 inches in a foot, and Jesus had 12 apostles, therefore the Imperial measurement system is the holy one while the metric system was invented by Satan to get people to reject Christ lol.

That makes sense. The metric system is communist after all. Unless it is being used to measure bullets, then its ok.

The metre (or meter as Americans prefer) was initially defined quite vaguely, because nobody knew for sure the circumference of the Earth at the equator.

So this could be a little joke by whoever defined the second as a function of the "ground-state hyperfine transition frequency of the caesium 133 atom" whatever that even is. In any case, the metre is a derived SI unit, dependent only on the speed of light and and the second.

A degree of latitude is 110,852 metres at 29.98N. So this number "29.9792458" is supposedly accurate to about ten centimetres.

Given that the Great Pyramid has some wear and tear, I doubt you could place its peak (when it was built) quite this accurately. But even if only 6 digits were the same (ie to the nearest metre) it would still be an impressive coincidence.

That's it. I can no longer deny the facts. I renounce atheist and accept that our world must have been created by intelligent design.

I now worship the Egyptian gods.

Do you think you just fade to black when you die?

Maybe they decided that the length of a meter would be the exact distance required to make the speed of light in m/s was the exact latitude of the pyramids.

Come on, quit getting all 'sciency', and just admit it was aliens! ;)

There's a whole bunch of shit on that latitude beside the pyramids.

And at that level of precision that latitude is .03 inches wide so it's not the exact latitude of the pyramids any more than 29.9792457 is or 29.9793000 is etc.

Let's not confuse this by using inches.

Using the same tool as before, I see you're right. I did what I should have done the first time, and put the whole latitude number in. Then I tweaked it to see how big a change resulted in a different answer in the centimetres place.

Yeah... but.. but..but.. The Pyramid!🤪

Ah, but did the aliens tell Pharaoh where to build his pyramid, or did they play a prank on the scientists looking to define the metre?

but there are ten decimal metric commandments!

and seven days to the week

Wait a minute. Who decided there were 360 degrees in a circle?
I mean, shouldn't there be 365.2422 degrees in a circle, one for every day in a year? Who said 360?
That'd change the length of a metre. Change the length of a second, too.
We can change the degrees in a circle but the days in a year? Not so much.

and seven days to the week

That actually makes sense, because a lunar month (synodic, ie cycles as they appear from Earth) is a bit over 29 days. Perhaps it would be better to have 3 weeks of 10 days each, but dividing the month into an even number of weeks (corresponding to phases of the moon) made more sense to the ancients than having a week which could be divided at all. So they were wrong, whatcha gonna do, sue them?

Matching a calendar to the moon is basically futile, because the Moon doesn't complete an integer number of cycles in one astronomical year. The only thing that still matters to common people is the season. But the astronomical year also doesn't divide neatly into four or six seasons, so why not abandon that too and just number the days of the year starting at an equinox or solstice?

360 has a lot of nice small factors:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, 18, 20, 24 ...

so it's not a bad choice. But really I want to say Nebuchadnezzar.

Nebuchadnezzar! There, I said it twice.

Do you think you just fade to black when you die?
No, I think there is just nothing, not even black. Like before you were born.
