Failed California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a law which prevents a school employee from being required “to disclose any information related to a pupil’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression to any other person without the pupil’s consent” (Support Academic Futures and Educators for Today’s Youth Act, or SAFETY Act).

Millions and millions of Californians have fled to other states to escape the idiotic policies and failed governance of Gavin Newsom, and Elon Musk has announced that he will move his Hawthorne, California SPACE X headquarters out of the state (to Texas).

I live in the vicinity of SPACE X, and I know a husband/wife couple who work there. They are so excited about SPACE X moving to Texas. They were looking for an excuse to escape Governor Newsom's stranglehold on Californian taxpayers, and this is the perfect motivation for them to pull up stakes and leave for good. And luckily, they have family in Texas, so that's a plus.

Incidentally, Musk intends to move his San Francisco-based X (formerly Twitter) to Austin, Texas.

Personally, I'm looking forward to reduced traffic congestion on the 405 when SPACE X has relocated.

The reason is just an excuse. He's using his new political power and influence to try to negotiate a better deal.

Yeah. I'm sure it's that. I'm sure it's not part of his plan to become a political power broker and extra-governmental co-ruler of America (at least until he annoys Trump)

Why do you think this is bad policy?

Because a parent should be aware of their child's sexual orientation. The SAFETY law gives power to the school to withhold that vital information from the parents.

If I'm a parent and I want to know my child's sexual orientation, I would ask them, not their teacher.

You?

A child's sexual orientation is an important part of their development and upbringing. It's possible that some children may want to try new things without their parent's knowledge or approval. Our kids sure did! 😆

Anyways, when parents send their kids to a public school, it's with the understanding that school administrators will be in contact with parents should any behavioral anomalies arise.

Transgenderism IS a behavioral anomaly - - even when kids are just trying new things. Parents need to know about it so they can be there for their child(ren).

Bye, Felicia

If parents have to learn about their children's sexual orientation from strangers then they obviously aren't there for them to begin with.

Yeah. If the parents don’t know it is probably due to fear of abuse.

It does not surprise me Republicans are pro child abuse.

Musk just fired 6k people just for fun.

What a guy.

If your kid’s teacher knows more about them than you do as a parent…that’s a failure as a parent, not the teacher’s fault. 🤷‍♀️

Guess it’s easier for folks to blame teachers than it is to look in the mirror and ask “why is my kid talking to them and not me”

As for Musk and moving a company? It’s probably cheaper to operate somewhere else. Don’t let the door hit you 🤷‍♀️

He isn’t moving the company because of a school policy, he’s moving because of $$$ - if you actually think otherwise, there’s some prime ocean front property for sale in the desert

Who cares what that douchebag does. America remains, for now, a free country. Businesses can move where they like, they do all the time, for a million different reasons. What makes this company, or this reason, newsworthy?

IF this is the reason he moving his company then Elon Musk is incurring a bunch of cost and creating havoc within his organization over something that in no way impacts his bottom line. In other words, it's a dumb ass move and a bad business decision. Which makes his political alignment, not to mention the discipleship of his fans, make perfect sense. The only question left is when is he going to start selling steaks and pillows.

Yes, a parent should be aware of their child's sexual orientation and if their child is unwilling to reveal it, that says an awful lot about the parents, and their relationship with their child.
Karen and I went through, I guess...something like a six month phase where neither of us were sure about our daughter's orientation.
She had suddenly amassed something like four or five new friends, ALL of whom were either gay or "curious" about alternatives.
So naturally we were wondering if she was gay.

We finally decided to "have the talk" one night after dinner.
The result was actually quite comical, to be honest.
There we were, acting all supportive and trying to be two adults she could feel comfortable confiding in, and we finally said,
"If you're gay, you can feel comfortable telling us, we just want you to be happy. Who you have a relationship with and their sexual orientation is not as important to us as what kind of person they are. We want you to find someone who will treat you with respect and someone you can be happy with."

Well anyway, we got as far as "We just want you to be...." (SNIP!) and suddenly she burst out laughing: "Why do you think I'm gay? I like MEN, I'm not gay!"

Well, all your new girlfriends are gay or seem to be......."They're just my friends, I am not dating them, I like men OMIGOD LOL."

If she didn't trust us, she would have shut down, maybe left the room, closed herself off, etc.
But she didn't.

And that's because we always had the kind of relationships with our kids that made them feel comfortable confiding in us.
I would like to see all kids have that kind of relationship with their parents but in the end at least half of that is up to the parents.

It is CRYSTAL CLEAR that the RICHEST MAN ON EARTH has NEVER ever had that kind of relationship with HIS kids.
And that means that we are richer than Elon Musk.

And so are YOU, if you can have that kind of relationship with YOUR children.

So wait.

He's moving his company because of that law?

What a ****ing moron.

Maybe Musk should move SpaceX to the Space Coast. That way he'll be closer to co-President Trump.

Don’t worry, he’s not moving the company. This is another “I moved Tesla” thing where the actual people working in California stay here. California is a ridiculously hot tech job market and top people aren’t going to relocate (and give up the possibility of switching to another hot company without having to move) so virtually all of the people working here will continue to do so.

As for MAGAs being such bad parents that they don’t even know who their own children are, well, that’s weird but not unexpected. It’s a good law and the only things teachers should be reporting to parents are the child’s coursework and ability to work with other students. Everything else is irrelevant and not their business.

Yeah. I'm sure it's that. I'm sure it's not part of his plan to become a political power broker and extra-governmental co-ruler of America (at least until he annoys Trump)
