I see this religion makes women scowl even in Iraq. Nothing like good old fashioned Christianity to put a scowl on your face. Must be the lovey-dovey feelings they have.

Thats common amongst eastern orthodox churches, which are more conservative than most western European denominations. I heard some very strickt calvinists in the US do that aswell.

I've rarely encountered a really happy Christian woman in the USA. Most of them wear bitterness like a button on their coat. They are the type of people who will drive slow in the fast lane and then speed up just to yell meanly from their window at you "Find Jesus sinner!", if you pass them. Its all quite ludicrous.

That might be your opinion or your expirience.

I on the otherhand, have met many happy religious women.

as opposed to the Jihadi extremists who are always happy and smiling.

Alrighty then, I'll file that under "Ludicrous Anecdote".

Not sure if serious.

Not a fan of the jihadis either. Religion seems to make people unhappy and nosey.

You're not sounding particularly filled with sunshine and peace there either, Buttercup.

Most of the people I've encountered driving slowly in the fast land have a cell phone plastered to their ears.

Alright, this anecdote I posted was from a time when my mother was driving me to an appointment in Georgia as a child. I was running late, so she was rushing over a bridge and an old woman was crawling in the fast lane. My mother carefully drove around her, but then the women followed us for miles until we pulled into a parking lot. At the time the woman rolled down the window and had a very nasty look on her face and cried "I hope you find jesus" bitterly. These type of incidents have shaped the religion for me. I am not a fan.

Fairly serious. I associate Christian women in America with a host of mental illnesses such as self-doubt, low self-esteem, neurosis of every kind, schizoidal paranoia, and persecution mania.

Ugly, bigoted ignorance. Presumably with an agenda.

Anti-conformity bigotry, the kind that hates the enemies if individuality, the agenda to put oneself and one's abilities up above the conformist religion that deadens potential with its cries for patriotic jingoist mind control and self-debasing death eagle iconography. Yes, its true I dont care what happens to Christians in Iraq or the agenda to make Eagle war there.

That's some pretty turgid prose there.

Whatever. I'd object the same if someone spewed rage and ignorance at Muslim women.

So you say, but I gather the Eagle is ready to take flight, so your wide and all encompassing good morality is actually a front for your basic Christian imperialist standpoint, which in itself is a front for controlling the world. Maybe you can get the British to help you with Eagle Catastrophe 2015.

rooster.webp

I'm atheist. I respect Christians and Muslims.

Beside, everyone knows the Jews already control the world :D

The proper response to that is, "If you'll stay off the road, maybe I'll not meet him quite so soon."

Not that a person like that would understand anyway.

Maybe I'm naive or something, but why do you have to announce your religion to anyone? How can you be persecuted for something that is personal?

This is not like being Jewish, unless the rules for Christianity are different in the Middle East. Not saying that people should have to hide their religion, but society is not exactly ideal in most parts of the Middle East. Do you really have to hand out Bibles?

And gays should be secret (sublime?) too, right? Why they gotta be all showy? "Shoving it down everyone's throat".

They have no right to express themselves (metaphysically or otherwise). Who the **** do they think they are... people?

Well, for one, Christianity is a voluntary ideology. Second, I'm not saying Christians should be secret, but why hand out Bibles in a sectarian hell-hole? Third, I wouldn't announce that I'm gay in many places in the Middle East.
