When you have attorneys, and they are saying that their client is asking for more time because he runs numerous businesses and has to personally go through boxes that contain a mix of items such as papers, golf awards, certificates, memorabilia, etc. it would have been customary to allow a former president to do that. They did it with a failed senator who was even allowed to have his attorneys present during the powder puff white glove treatment they gave to an idiot named Biden who is known to have used a classified document that he dictated to a friend.

So, please dispense with this nonsense that they were worried a former president might divulge classified information. It is pablum for children.

If Comey were more like J.Edgar Hoover, he'd still be director of the FBI. That is because on day one of Trump's first administration, Comey would have had a private meeting with Trump:

"Mr. president, there are people out there who want to hurt you and your family. They are seeking documentation that would do that. But do not worry, Mr. president. I have that documentation safely under lock and key, never to be seen by your enemies. As long as I am in charge of the FBI, I want you to know you and your family are safe."

This is a conversation Hoover had with several presidents during his tenure.
