The False Teachings Of The Jehovah's Witnesses (1 Viewer)

No, they're just indifferent monsters with no care about a child's well being.
No, their authority just goes so far...they are not legal authorities...

No, they're just indifferent monsters with no care about a child's well being.
For JW elders. as well as the JWGB members, it's all about diverting negative attention/publicity away from the Jehovah Witness Organization. If 'serving Jehovah' means no justice or protection for defenseless little children from physical/sexual abuse - so be it. It's a very dangerous religious sect for an innocent child to be born into. The elders, who may be aware they have a sexual deviant within their midst will still allow that sexual deviant to dwell/pray/fellowship within the congregation, unbeknownst to other JW members who are not aware they are praying and fellowshipping with a sexual deviant.

No, their authority just goes so far...they are not legal authorities...
They should go to legal authorities like any decent person would do. Instead, they ignore the abuse and are thus part, if not the cause, of the problem.

Indeed. They care more about their "image" than their members, especially children. It's a dangerous cult at the very least.

No, they shouldn't...the victims should...
Why not? Any other responsible, decent adult would do everything possible to protect abuse victims, especially children. Yet "Elders" simply wave it off as nothing, leaving children traumatized. That's horrendous and just plain evil.

Jehovah's Witnesses fits the profile of the cult described on this video.

Now I would like to give you some thoughts on how deception enters.
And I believe there’s only really one door that let’s deception in and that is PRIDE.
I believe behind all deception there is pride.
Pride is what opens us up to deception.

One of the lures of many cults is the attraction that if you join them you are going to join a supergroup.
I mean, the real overcomers. The people who are going to get the job done.
The church has messed around and not got the job done
but now here we are we’re going to get the job done.

What does that appeal to? Pride, that’s right.

So - we see as an example from JW by how they attempt to bash other churches that celebrate the traditional Christian holidays.

Though JW.org had stated that they don't interfere with others celebrating Christmas -that's not what's being displayed here by their own apologist.
Either JW.org speaks like a politician, spinning a lie.....................or, their apologist is a disobedient child.

So beware when people tell you there’s a super-group that have gone further than others.

And they are usually rather critical of previous generations of Christians
but I’d have to say as far as I’ve seen they don’t begin to produce the same kind of results
that previous generations produced.

How low have Christianity been dragged down to such pettiness.............................. when they even criticize and judge people on how they pray!

Follow the discussion starting from post #209

Of course, what point is having PRIDE ...................IF THERE IS NOTHING TO LIFT ONE'S SELF UP, BY PUTTING ANOTHER DOWN.
For many - pride is served when we look good at the expense of someone else.

And I say to people if you ever join a group who tells you, “If you want to be right, you’ve got to join us.”
When you’ve joined them, you’ll know one thing: you’re wrong!

Joining a Church (and specifically another denomination) should not be taken lightly. Be sure to be careful of this when you do.

This statement below can't say it any better (red font).
Hence, I come to see why JESUS had warned we mustn't take away anything from the Book of Prophecies.

sermons about hell are rarely preached yet its significance in Christian doctrine cannot be understated.
hell as described in scripture serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of sin and the importance of redemption through Christ.

  1. There is no Triune God (God, His Word, His Spirit). God is not Jesus Christ in human form.

There is a topic solely devoted to numerous verses, and logical explanations about what we call the Trinity, and verses that state Jesus (The Word), and God are One and the Same.

The latest recap of evidences are listed on posts # 257 and 258.

As of this writing, JW apologists have yet to answer this question:

Who is our groom? God, or Christ?

The question is based on these verses:

Isaiah 54
“For your husband is your Maker,
Whose name is the Lord of hosts;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel,
Who is called the God of all the earth.

Hosea 2
16 “In that day,” declares the Lord,
“you will call me ‘my husband’;
you will no longer call me ‘my master.

19 And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy.

2 Corinthians 11
11 I hope you will put up with me in a little foolishness. Yes, please put up with me!
2 I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy.
I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin
to him.
3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
4 For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one
you
accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

Either Jesus is God......or, JW suggests the New Testament is not reliable.
An unreliable New Testament means the whole idea of Jesus Christ – and salvation, and everything promised in the NT - are thrown down the toilet.
I was raised JW. And I left in anger when I was ten or so and never went back. Much to my mother’s chagrin.

But the trinity thing did make sense because of the schizophrenic aspects. Jesus didn’t go to the mountain to meditate or something. He went to talk to himself, if the trinity is true.

Which is weird. Further, if it’s one entity, it didn’t give its life on the cross, as it knew it wasn’t really going to die. It only suffered. Got a taste of the punishment every human has to endure because somebody else ****ed up millenia before they were born.

Don’t get me started on the blood transfusion thing, as that was the issue that led to my exodus.

regardless of our background, we need to seek God and his ways. my background was not entirely right, but i seek to walk with God and the narrow way. (and yes i agree, there are problems with the JW)

Jesus went to the mountain to pray to his Father, God the Father.

it doesn't make sense to say that Jesus went to the mountain to pray to himself.

we believe the Trinity consists of 3 distinct persons within God: the Father, the Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

we accept this by faith as there is nothing to compare this to. since who God is, is way beyond our understanding; i have no problem accepting that God exists in Trinitarian form. the Trinity seems best to explain all the references to God's nature in the Bible.

I cannot reconcile the idea of a god that evinces the very worst in men. Petty. Vindictive. Unfair.

I believe the universe to be an artifact, a mad thing.

But if jahweh exists he needs to worry about the actual creator coming back and holding him accountable for his misdeeds. For the suffering he added.

Objective historical fact. Christmas and Easter were well established as Christian holidays long before the JW religion started in the late 1800’s in the USA.

Irrelevant...lol...

True, neither is Christmas or Easter...

Thanksgiving Bible Verses About the Harvest

  • Psalm 85:12: "The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest."
  • Proverbs 3:9-10: "Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine."

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
  • Psalm 107:37: "They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest."
  • Psalm 67:6: "The earth has yielded its harvest. God, our God, blesses us."

What is "schizophrenic," if not a word that came from man?

Was God talking to Himself?

Genesis 1:26
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,
and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Gen 3
22 And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of
us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

Which is weird.

If Jesus had said, nothing is impossible with God...................................why is it, "weird?"

According to mockers of God - the whole idea of GOD, is weird.
Do you agree?

Further, if it’s one entity, it didn’t give its life on the cross, as it knew it wasn’t really going to die. It only suffered. Got a taste of the punishment every human has to endure because somebody else ****ed up millenia before they were born.

How is knowing what would happen be equated to therefore, He didn't give His life on the cross?
That's quite a big jump.
Lol - that's kinda has a familiar tone to it, too.
Basically along the same lines when atheists argue - God knew what will happen therefore Adam and Eve did not have free will!

GOD gave His H U M A N life on the cross.
He P H Y S I C A L L Y died on the cross.

He suffered and actually experienced every bit of dying as a human.

Did He have to go through all that?
He could've just wiped out all mankind...........and started all over again (if He wanted to).

So he used the royal “we”.

And he did not experience every bit of dying as a human.

Because he knew it wasn’t real, permanent.

No fear.

So he used the royal “we”.

Why did He have to use the royal "we?"

All the previous creations He'd made, He never invoked the royal "we."
Why would God be suddenly talking to Himself?

Lol - would He have had ye olde English accent to go with it? 😁

And he did not experience every bit of dying as a human.

Because he knew it wasn’t real, permanent.

Those two don't connect.

The pain, the suffering, the death - what He went through as a human, was real!

He knew what was coming.
Fear? Anxiety? He felt something..........................for Him to have said this:

Luke 22:42-44 ESV
“Father, if you are willing,
take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.
And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.

He used it because the writer said he did and used parlance common to the author’s era.

You know they went through all the goapels at one point and kept only the ones that benefited the priest and ruling classes, right?

Let me be clear. Jahweh is a douchebag. Embodying all the worst traits of those who used them to secure power do themselves. Jesus was just the avatar for the Middle East culture. Showed up in one form or another all over the world with the same core message. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.

I’m not an atheist per se. Just can’t swallow the whole jahweh thing. I think the universe is an artefact, a made thing.

I just don’t believe the creator of the wondrous universe we occupy was made by the petty, needy, brutal jerk who just happens to embody all the traits of power hungry humans.

I was raised JW. I get an opinion.
