I have never been a democrat, my wife has never been a democrat, none of our children (or grandchildren) are democrats, but the DNC thought it was a good idea to send us an Official Democratic Survey. LOL.

I don't suppose that there is the faintest chance that the Democratic Party was trying to find out the opinion of ALL Americans and not just those who were registered Democrats (whatever that means), eh?

Seems like the DNC is trying to recover some of their losses early. Sad that Big Donor and Big Money donations are drying up because the democrats have no power, so that money now has to go to the RNC for political favors. Even sadder, the DNC will have to rely on the base for donations, and the base only believes in spending other people's money, not their own. To make matters even worse, Trump is smart to immediately go after the democrat's funding while painting the democrats as very toxic and wasteful of other's money. I bet by the midterms I have more money in the bank than the DNC. On a side note, the democrat propaganda machine needs hundreds of millions of dollars to function. Good luck to the democrats trying to get their BS propaganda and empty promises to be heard enough to be convincing. This might just be the beginning of a MAGA century.

I had considered the possibility that someone was pranking me by giving my name and house address to the DNC. This survey came in snail mail, so they know where I live (which is disturbing, frankly). All have denied pranking, however I have some Democrat friends who I think might have thought this would be a fun prank.

I will inquire later today.

Every once in a while, I get those so-called surveys from both major parties. It’s not opinions the major parties want, it’s money. Those surveys are just fishing expeditions hoping to catch a lot of green.

Most of the questions are social media meme level thinking nonsense, buried in most of the questions are subjects that should matter to the working class but at no time is that demographic that they ignored in 2024 all that important to them now, and of course they ask for commitment from those taking the survey to wrap it up.

Not once, anywhere in the survey, is anything to the effect "why do you think 2024 was so strong for Republicans?"

No. Tariffs are not Direct taxes. Libertarians only object to Direct Taxes, (e.g., Income Tax and Property Tax). Government always uses coercion to collect Direct Taxes (Jail, Fines, Penalties, Liens on property, etc), and libertarians believe that government should not have the power or authority to coerce anyone, for any reason.

There is no coercion with Indirect Taxes. There are no trials or Jail when you choose to purchase a product made in USA (no tariff) instead of an imported product which has tariffs.

I’m going to guess their main priority was section V, “my contribution”. Ask the right questions to get people riled up enough to want to send in money. I seriously doubt the desired result is survey data.

It’s publicly available information. They probably purchased a list of names and addresses targeting your neighborhood or area/zip code.
